Ok, so I was just about to preorder an XP-01 upgrade set from BBTS, and then I saw there's a Junkion Blacksmith set coming out! So which one?

I like the look of the X-transbots one better myself. Except the wait and shield. Mainly because the legs on JB's look wrong.

Sadly the best look will probably be achieved by mixing the two sets, maybe even a dash of CrazyDevy to boot.

Which part of JB's set is superior to X-transbot's? Maybe the shield?

The only CD set that would apply would be the chest shild and waist/crotch peice. The one son X-transbot's are ... not so good.

Well that's a bummer. The reviews on YouTube show some major quality control problems with the hands on both sets, as well as some other parts.

I found the waist to be okay. But it's not exactly rocket science to make a piece of plastic with two flaps on the side. Still, with X-Transbots and JB's set out there it's the only upgrade set worth buying at all from CD.

Everything CD is crazy overpriced; I wish I hadn't bought them all. I gotta see some video reviews of the other two sets, though. I'm very curious as to how they stack up.

Here are the ones I watched. The main theme running through both is that everything keeps falling apart.

I wasn't a biased customer against CD until I purchased their POS waist upgrade. The freakin' ball joint attachment to his thighs just can't support the weight of his torso. It keeps on flopping backward or forward being top heavy. It should have used ratcheted joints if only to support the top.

Don't tell me you didn't notice that in the CD waist?

I have it. I don't think it's the ball joint in the leg as much as it is the distribution of weight that's the main problem. SOMEONE just needs to make heel attachments. But the legs aren't perfect by any stretch. I don't know why they didn't add shin swivels.

I skimmed the video reviews of the other sets and from what I can gather the best bet is ... to just buy Herc or Giant. The all fail at standing. Although the X-Transbots set, even though they KOed Crazy Devy, seem to have better leg pieces. They all fail at hands too, and what's the damned point of making them at all if they fail so badly. Both X-Trans and JB made some pretty whacked chest shields, although Crazy Devy's is almost a KO of the original. The waist bits on X-Trans and CD suck ass.

So, yeah. Just buy Herc or Giant.

Despite not really loving most of brick-like G1 figures, I always wanted a green Devy, so picked up an encore set and the X-Transbots upgrade set recently.
Hmmmm...? :???:

The arm attachments are loose and fall off, the fingers are loose and pop out of their joints, but the worst part is the upper waist/head attachment which should slide onto Hook just does not fit!
The leg attachments are great, the best part!
I'm gonna pick up the Junkion Blacksmith version and make the best out of what I can...!! :lol:
