Both Overlord and Ginrai are more like officeblockbots more than citybots, though. But then again G1 scale are all over the place.

Oh man... forgot about this. just brought a 30 head upgrade kit. for Botcon Gigatron! Oh well at least I'll enjoy it for two years before this comes out. Unless MMC changes it's process by some act of god and release everything they have plan next year...

I don't think anything X said was the least bit provoking.

I may disagree with his assertion that their Predaking was too big, I think it was just right, but I don't feel like he was poking the bear in any way with his comment.

As far as Carnifex, I'll just wait for the pics before I make any judgement.
I kind of liked the BTS take on the character, but I'm not sure I would have shelled out the kind of cash a 16" version would have cost. I just don't have that type of attachment to the character.

Only Hexatron's height ? MMC always does weird scales. They things that should have been smaller (Predacons) they made huge. Then they want to do a city bot like Overlord the size of MP-10.

I think an MP-10 sized Overlord works fantastically with Classics - especially if we're working with IDW Overlord.

Then again, you don't read the comics, X, so I can see why you might be confused/miffed.

He has no plans to buy a 3rd party OverLord that is 16 inch Supreme scale, 12 to 14 inch scale or 10 inch toy scale. He said his preferred scale for this character toy, Is voyager or Ultra scale.

Complaining that this Ten inch MMC Carnifex is too small is just him trying to mock and taunt members here that were interested in buying the,now cancelled, BTS Nova lord toy. Which he hated with a passion due to it's 16 inch robot toy scale.

BTS Nova Lord was only selling for $250 on most USA based import sites. Thought this was a very cheap price,considering its a 16 inch supreme sized robot mode.

Other 3rd party supreme scaled toys like that WFC Omega Supreme sold for almost $400. Think most of MT's 14 inch city bots will sell around $400.

You may be right, that may have been the price, but to me that isn't worth it.
Not so much for the size, or the engineering that may have gone into it, but rather for the character.

$250 is a lot of bones to pony up for a character to which I have little attachment. He was prominent in the JP series, which I never watched, and was from an era of figures that was after I stopped collecting as a kid.

From a character POV, I feel about this character much as I feel about Six Shot ... cool looking bot, don't really care about the character. BUT, because the MMC Hexatron resonated with me from a design level and I felt the price point was OK, I bought it. This may well do the same.

pics of this were shown at Auto Assembly. It's said to be a "Last Stand Of The Wreckers/IDW" Overlord. So don't expect something the size of Generations Metroplex. I'd reckon around Leader class. Sorry Tsu, I don't know exactly how quarters of how many inches, but they said "he'll still be big enough to rip Guzzle in two" but he'll not be ridiculously ginormous.

Then wait a few months after the toys release. To see if 3rd party add on kits come out for this toy. Then decide to buy the big toy or not. Since some 3rd party toys have a high rate of QC problems on the first waves releases, It's probably wise to wait a few months after anyways till you buy.

Beggars can't be chosers, I have Zero power to create or change any 3rd party TF toys products. So I think it's pointless to beg, While, Curse or troll in threads. While I liked the BTS Nova lord toy more in sculpt, design and scale. This MMC Carnifex is a more than decent toy to settle for. Being a 10.5 inch robot mode is by no means small, It could have been much worse like it being Voyager or Ultra scale. This MMC Carnifex will still tower a bit over most Rid, AEC, Movie-Verse and MP Leader scaled toys.

Since MMC is creating this, I have faith the price will be low enough like most of their products prices are. The only issue I have is waiting till 2016 to 2017 for MMC to release this Carnifex toy. Hoping the company hires more workers,get more funds and release products faster like TFC does.

Still not entirely convinced we've seen the last of that BTS Nova Lord toy. Think the toy was way to far in late test shot proto type toy stage to be gone forever. The cad files exist in the BTS companies and overseas factories. The BTS Nova lord toy Cad files can get sold, stolen or still used by BTS. for all we know BTS might be in the process of rebranding itself like KFC is doing. BTS under a newer company name might still plan to release this Nova Lord toy. Think the Nova Lord toy is popular enough with fans who planned to buy it to make it worthwhile to create it and get some profit from it.

I think it's a smart move for MMC to make Overlord an IDW style. IDW LSOTW has a huge fan base. And I think it will fit nicely with their Impactor and the DJD.

Dosn't really matter to me. As IDW Overlord was closely modeled after 1988 MF Overlord. Don't need my updates to be exact, After all I settle for those HasTak neo G-1 Classics updates TF toys all the time. Any fan who knows what 1988 MF Overlord looks like and sees MMC Carnifex for the first time, Will immediately know it's a Overlord update toy.

I plan to buy the MMC Carnifex toy regardless. But i'm still wondering how MMC did the set up for this toy design. Is it still a tank and jet that merge to form a overlord robot mode? Is it a tripple changer with both modes like Blitzwing is? or something else? Thinking it's a jet and tank that merge to form a robot as the MMC Carnifex art pic shows the front jet nose as a shield on the robot arm and tank threads on the lower legs.

If it's IDW design then I would expect it to be two vehicles (and hope it is because his alt mode would be way too big).

Does Overlord ever transform into any Alt modes in the IDW LSOTW or those MTMTE or Rid comics?

Bought and read the IDW TF LSOTW Comics. Don't remember Overlord ever transforming into any alt modes. Think Overlord just stayed in robot mode for the entire LSOTW comics. Haven't read the LSOTw comics in years and don't remember.

Stoped buying the IDW TF Comics years ago after the, Choas saga ended. Never read any Rid or MTMTE Comics. Heard Overlord was in the space adventures comics. Since I didn't read them, I don't know if Overlord transformed into any alt modes in those comics. Does anyone who read these comics, Know if overlord transformed into any alt modes in these comics.

Since Overlord was portrayed as a small city bot (or at least a base) I would like him to be the size of Maketoys Utopia.

What I DONT want is an Overlord that transforms into an Aircraft carrier or huge out of scale jet with a cockpit big enough to hold GI Joe figures. That's what made Nova Lord a bust. Almost everybody here has BTS's crappy Gear of War rocket launchers that get stuck permantaly. And their cassettes weren't great looking either. This alone led to a lack of pre-orders and Nova Lord getting cancelled. Like Ive told you before, the major retailers collect a certain amount of pre-orders. When they get enough, they notify the company to move forward with production. They sometimes even front them the money if they have close ties. In the case of Nova Lord, the pre-orders collected just didn't justify moving forward with production. Nobody wants to lose money on a gamble. (hence Citizen Stack)

Those crappy gears of war Launchers were made by TFC.

Anyway, there's probably a lot of reasons BTS Overlord was dropped. It's too bad; as a Powermaster I'd have rather gotten that than this. But either way, Overlord is just one of those characters that seems kinda cool to me, but one which I have no real connection with.

Still, we'll see what we see with this guy.

Has anybody seen anything on this guy, like renders or prototypes or anything? I don't frequent TFW and all we have in this thread is artwork of this guy sitting in a throne.
