I'm actually pretty jazzed for the blue repaint. It will make it worlds easier to "Soundwave" him! I had to do mine the hard way!

Hate the blue. It makes it look terrible. Why not RED? And what is with the "mud" on the fenders? Recolors are great if they are done right and do not look cheap.

I'd say, black still looks better.

But i like the Autobot logo on the head.

I can't fathom why he's blue. I'm not convinced I'd even buy it in red either. The G1 repaints are cool ideas but I got the movie guys for how they look in the movie and bought very few at that. Regardless, he looks nice. The extra detailing is pretty cool though. Wonder what he's going to be named.

I seem to be the only one though I haven't readd all the posts, but I quite like this version, especially the more colourful robot mode and the mud detailing. Why a blue Ironhide is a question that'll wake me up during the night though.

Gonna agree with the general opinion and say they should have went with G1 Colours.

A thought: Are we sure the character is being released as Ironhide again?

Could just be a redeco like the Concept Bumblebee redeco into Cliffjumper. Though can't think of who would transform into a blue pickup.

Haha... what a fandom though. People complain when G1 color schemes are forced on to their movie namesakes (Jazz, Starscream & Ratchet) yet we also complain when a G1 color scheme ISN'T forced onto their G1 namesake (Ironhide).

I agree. I for one prefer black Ironhide. I don't get why so many people want a red one... aside from G1, when was Ironhide ever red?

Things like this are HUGE pet peeves of mine. Move passed G1. Why is it that everytime a new toy of a character comes out, it NEEDS to be repainted in it's G1 COLOURS! Not their Armada colours, or Energon, or Cybertron, or Beast Wars, or RID or whatever!

it's like G1 colour schemes are the only ones that matter... oh wait, who am I kidding, lots of people in the fandom still think that G1 was the only SERIES that mattered...

Doesnt look no worse than this stupid two-tone blue.

Till then, I personaly can't tell you what colors I'd like to see him in, if anything I think a black and silver combination would compliment this design well with some chrome accents.

I seperated these movie figures from there G1 counterparts, most I even renamed. It made them more easy for me to adapt to. So on that note, since we have an all new design, why not try an all new color pattern?

i like it. i prefer the standard version, but i still like the colour choices, since the blue and yellow and blue and black work well together.




G1 IS DEAD. DEAL WITH IT. HOMAGES EXIST, LIKE CLASSICS, BUT G1 IS STILL DEAD.

I'm not saying Ironhide can only be red. I for one love the black coloring on the movie Ironhide. I just think that if Hasbro's going to go around making G1 redecos, then Ironhide is one of the better molds to choose. I think the Starscream redeco looks ridiculous in that color scheme, but it takes effort to make a big red truck look bad.

I will show you, but it isnt ready yet. I am waiting for the paint to fully dry. I have a preview up in the kitbash forum though, look for the thread "he is coming."
