I'm in a bit of a dilemma at the moment. In an ideal world, I'd like to buy both MP-06 Skywarp, and MP-07 (Anime) Starscream, with his coronation set. Probably display Skywarp mostly as a jet, and Starscream mostly as a robot.

However, I've always sworn never to get suckered into buying repaints of the same mould. Spending all that money for nothing other than a different paintjob on the same figure that has no new functionality just doesn't sit well with me.

So here's the dilemma, which one to get?

From an aesthetic point of view, I think Skywarp's the better looking of the two. For some reason the blue vertical fins on Starscream just throw the whole jet mode off for me, though his robot mode's very nice.

But... Starscream's, you know, STARSCREAM. How can you pass him up?

What do the rest of you think? Which would you pick if you could only get one?

This is something I've actually thought about for a while, just because I WILL get the MP Grimlock, and would like to have a Decepticon as well, even if it's just one.
Once I finish buying the movie figures that I want (which is only 3 more),
I will seriously think about getting Skywarp.
Not only do I think he looks better overall, I just like him better than Starscream as a character.

Pass on Starscream... He gets a lot of love as it is.

I have both of them but I got my Skywarp first. He has the nicest gloss black paint and warning labels everywhere

Besides who doesn't like black repaints?

I agree with Firebird. MP Skywarp has the sweetest finish that you have every seen for a Transformer. When you put MP Starscream and MP Skywarp next to each other in alt mode, there is no contest that Skywarp looks damn sleek.

I don’t own Skywarp, but I’d say Starscream.

Really though, you should get both and Thundercracker if they ever make him. You said your self in an ideal world you’d like to buy both so why not? Yeah its just a repaint, and yeah its still the same toy, but it’s a toy, no, a repaint YOU WANT! If you have the cash, why tell your self no?

Don’t get me wrong, but you have a reason for buying both and if you want both that’s what you should get.

Skywarp. Just because they'll always be some kind of Starscream out there.

But if you look at the packaging of Skywarp, it does look like there is a Thundercracker on the horizon (no pun intended).

Well, I put in an order for Skywarp (And an encore ratchet, since that only added $5 to the shipping). If I like it, and have enough space next to it on the shelf, I'll think about buying Starscream in a month, assuming I still have money in my budget.

Now's a great time for buying Transformers in Aus. The price of most toys in US$ is around half or less what it costs over here in AU$, yet our dollar's currently worth US$0.95. I'm picking up what Transformers I can while they're comparatively cheap.
