I guess props for doing something obscure for the hardcore collectors, however, most of them probably already bought the iGear version.

Now a Classics Sunstorm would be more than welcome (and yes, I have the KO Sunstorm already).
ViperEye82 wrote:Really? I think I understand it completely. Look at it this way: If Tak/Has wanted to do another MP, they could do Ramjet, but would require remolding the wings, and head. OR, for less money but the same profit, they could just repaint Starscream for the 8th time and sell that.
Don't get me wrong, I would do the same thing, and I have no qualms about it, but its also why I appreciate the 3rd party items, seems they're able to produce the characters we want on a much smaller scale.

Well, its MP Sunstorm, not encore. Encore is the Sixshot figure.
I meant MP. Stupid typo.
If Hasbro brings over the MP with a decent paint job and maybe an exclusive accessory or two, I might snag him.

It makes perfect sense to do Sunstorm. Skywarp and Thundercracker are surely going to be more popular (overall) than a Masterpiece Sunstorm is (due to being more iconic, etc). They're also essential to finish the "Seeker Trio" as it were, while Sunstorm is just an extra character.
So do Sunstorm first, get the sales for that for people who will buy him just because and then release Thundercracker and Skywarp later (because most people will want both of them if they have Starscream or one or the other and less likely to skip one of them than they would a Sunstorm). While a Sunstorm after fact wouldn't likely be as popular (having had a few releases of the new tooling by then) people might just skip him.
Plus I'm sure Sunstorm is being done in an effort to kill any future sales of iGear's version.

He's a combination of an early animation error and the terrible Dreamwave comics...which puts him somewhere below Drift on my scale of what counts as a real character. They might as well release Bumblejumper.GuyIncognito wrote:Diem wrote:Ugh, another Masterpiece repaint and it's not even a real character. Boo!

I wouldn't hold my breath. If they haven't even released a Masterpiece Thundercracker in the US, what chance does a Sunstorm possibly have?!

It makes perfect sense for iGear to do Sunstorm where selling 2000 of them is considered a success. How many does Takara need to sell for it to be worth their while? Then again, since Takara actually sells theirs for more than iGear, maybe selling 2000 is worth their while, too...yeah, probably not.
But I still maintain if Sunstorm isn't worth their while enough to do as a Henkei or United fig, WTF are they doing releasing it as an MP? Looks to me like they're just trying to 'stick' it to iGear...which is idiotic in its own right considering iGear already beat them to the punch and charge about $50 less...assuming Takara doesn't charge even more for Sunstorm than Starscream.

Megatron also hasn't been redecoed. Unless I missed something.
