Actually, You're probably not in the minority. I think a most people want both robots. I do too if it's feasible. I'm just saying if it's not (which is more than likely, considering you can't just fold the arms to the side as stated above), I'd rather have the full character rather than just another albino prime.
Just curious on what you mean "you can't just fold the arms to the side."
I ask because from my understanding, the arms were always part of the trailer that becomes the armor. And because of that, in order to have any QC-free articulation, you need to revert the robot's arms back into the way it was in truck form. Much like the way it was with the original toy. Or did the toy not transform this way after all?

If you're looking to get Grimlock, I'd say go for either MP-8, MP-8K, or even the Hasbro version (the differences of the Hasbro version are quite minimal), as, of all the MPs I own, Grimlock is my favorite MP mold simply because it's just so darn fun a figure!
I agree.
But he will be in my list in hopes of me getting lucky, as he fits what I am looking for. So lets hope he gets a reissue either way.

Though, I wouldn't count on any G1 mold reissue like in Encore or whatnot, as the original Dinobot molds are among those said to be either lost or beyond use (along with Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, and maybe Shockwave).

That, and I am also assuming that the trailer will split into two parts in order to give the figure maximum articulation.
The MP-10 mold can't fold it's arms back into it's sides. the waist is made up of the wheel arches like MP-01. In order to get them in, you have to basically take the toy back to truck mode. Since the legs don't flip down like the G1 mold, this leaves the front of the truck pointing straight up and make it incredibly back heavy. In order to make an armor for that mold it will have to be a parts former like City Commander.

Oh, I'm sure they could think of a creative way to do it. MP Rodimus would have been easy if you could just throw his car mode into that winnebago, but oh no, you have to transform him into some sort of monstrous mess to shove him under his trailer. I'm thinking this will be similar.

I would rather him be a parts former for the armor than have the trailer transform around the mp-10 mold. I think it would have an overall better outcome with looks and articulation. Just like perfect effects motobot aka arcee if they didn't make her a little bit of a part former I think the figures articulation and overall appearance would have suffered from it. Plus armor usually comes in pieces but what ever way Takara does it if that's what they are doing I hope it comes out great and remains very articulated.

Re: MP-15 Teaser
I think we will see the ultra magnus with full armor and trailer, as we are getting the sideswipe and red alert figures, which if we get the trailer we could load them up onto the trailer as a real car carrier, if you remember back to the G1 packaging it shows magnus carrying other bots in vehicle mode. And even tho the pic shows MP-10 doesnt mean they did a retool to the mold to make it work with full armor. But if not magnus I def foresee being a Nemesis Prime deco, its quick and easy and it allows them a lil filler to have more time to make the magnus armor work.

Re: MP-15 Teaser
@ Sabrblade: I am calling both Hasbro and Takara Tomy lazy on grounds that they should have been recreating molds by reverse engineering any quality KO pieces or pieces that did not degenerate while saving the scanned data on a computer.
That, and as much as I love me some Dinobots, I have to put the MP-8 on a pending list. To simplify my buying, any characters that are not from G1/Headmasters must either be exclusives (Asian market, Japanese, etc.) or reissues. No clue on the MP stuff, but have him listed in the new 2010 category for the time being.

This.
Because I was going to respond to why they would just reuse a MP-10 Convoy mold for a more complicated figure. I honestly thing that, since they are trying to improve the quality, they would make a slightly newer mold so it would work with the armor.

I slightly cannot, for two reasons:
1) In Japanese continuity, Black Convoy (Nemesis Prime) only existed in the Binaltech continuity. (Binaltech: BT-17 Black Convoy; Alternity: A-01 Convoy - Super Black)
2) e-HOBBY had done a MP-1B Convoy Black Ver. (which is part of the G-2 portion of the Generation 1 timeline.)

It's also kinda funny that BT Black Convoy's body was the basis for Optimus Primal's new body at the end of the events of Alternity.
Which turned out to be the Eldedroids.
Whoa!
Maybe it's another Eldedroid toy using the MP-10 mold. Granted that would be boring, lazy, and flat out awful, but still possible.
Whoa!
That actually happened after G-2, which ended with Convoy having his body reconfigured into his original form and applied with the similar/same coating used during his Nebulon Quest days. (Honestly, I am still wondering why they gave him Super Ginrai's number and not God Ginrai's number for that set.) This allowed him to become Cybertron Chief Commander, defeat Galvatron II, and allow Laser Ultra Magnus live to say "Well... If I had my old body, I could beat the snot out of him!"
And besides... If I do recall, they could always allow e-HOBBY make a "Daniel" version of MP-15, if it turns out to be Ultra Magnus.
So? I didn't say anything about pre- or post-G-2.
You didn't need to, just being informative to those who might be reading this (and saying to themselves, "What does this have to do with MP-15?")
Maybe it's due to the lack of a Godbomber redeco.
And means that the one my friend almost bought as a modded piece, as well.
Though, despite his defeating Galvatron II, Galvatron II still remained at large and in command with Megatron (now somehow back in his old body) serving under him.
That was due to Battlestars. Galvatron was the result of Unicron's own power (which would explain Galvatron's madness in season 3), and was further explained in Kiss Players. Dark Nova recovered his crushed body and had undone what Unicron did in order of upgrading Galvatron to Super Megatron. And in a tradition that would make Toei proud (and FYI, Toei says nothing about the Transformers in their gallery's timeline), the two merged and became Ultra Megatron.
Then there was the start of the G-2 era, where he was more of a violence-free Megatron. That changed when humans killed some Destrons, and he obtained his G-2 tank form. And between that and the moment you mentioned, he regained his original form.
Good thinking. It would make sense for e-HOBBY to be the ones to make another Eldedroid toy.
Actually, they have yet to make a drone toy... On account that the MP-1B box uses the title "Cybertron Commander" and not "Eldedroid" on it.
But thanks. I figured it had to be the next logical step on account that he was found to be near death at one point in the MP-3G comic. Plus, it would make a great jump-in point for e-HOBBY to do a follow-up on that story... Especially with so many collectors here be willing to shove out the money for such an exclusive.

Or better yet... MP-15 being a Japanese Toys"R"Us exclusive that was bought out by those who sell it on the secondary market, jacking up the prices to the stores here, which has us pay 3 times as much, when compared to its initial retail price in Japan.

I need to slightly correct you there. In the movie, we do not see the state of Galvatron's mentality after the death of Unicron. However, what we do see is him being placed on a very tight mental leash... Which means that whenever Galvatron resisted, he received a very bad form of mental torture.
I am assuming that he was forced to watch the Michael Bay films that way.
So when Unicron died, his influence (and particles) was still in Galvatron. Which was later revealed when Cyclonus tried getting his insanity corrected and the planet could not - Unicron, and not the lava bath had influence on his mentality. This was also later proven to be a possibility when (in Headmasters) Galvatron announced his plans to become the next "Unicron" (per say). Which means that up to his death, Unicron still had an influence on him.
And if any... The heat from the lava might have damaged some of the particles that allowed Unicron to have a greater grasp on Galvatron.
As for Galvatron II... His madness was due to him facing an "Endless 8" and being aware that he would not escape anytime soon. Which now makes me wonder how Itsuki, Kyon, and Mikuru handled theirs as they faced theirs 15,532 times. But I digress, as that can make anybody go mad, especially if they wanted to enjoy their victory.

Ahhh... Okay. That makes more sense. I try avoiding Destron media, as well as that questionable (at best) series.
So when it comes to this, I have to rely on a friend's translated works. Namely because I am wondering if or when people at TFwiki will realize that Jazz's ranking is Lieutenant Commander, and not Lieutenant/Sub-Commander.

(And yes,I watched the third season's episodes nearly religiously as both a kid and an adult.)
In the movie, Galvatron acts exactly as he did when he was Megatron, only differences being his new voice (Leonard Nimoy instead of Frank Welker) and his new, more powerful body. He's as calm-minded and tactical-thinking as he was when he was Megatron.I am assuming that he was forced to watch the Michael Bay films that way.

When he is pulled from the lava pit on Thrull, however, he gains another new voice (this time by Frank Welker, but still different from his Megatron voice) and he lashes out at his own troops in violent, blinded fury and maniacal laughter. We even see indicative sparks coming from his forehead at one point, showing that his mind has been damaged by the lava.
My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'

Simple - they didn't remember each morning.
And Yuki did, which is why you have the events in the movie.
As for the topic, I'm leaning towards Ultra Magnus myself.

Re: MP-15 Teaser
Ummm... Sabrblade? Do you remember how the others asked you stop trying to be right and start listening to those who are equally knowledgeable of a series or event? This is one of those moments.

I have seen the movie 5 times in 3 days, so the events and differences are still fresh. And what season 3, episode 16 has stated is what I am trying to say: His insanity is the result of Unicron, not the result of plasma. (Because if the plasma had the capabilities of damaging him, he would also not be able to do anything when it comes to the upper-half of his body.)
So with that said, can we please just stick with things that don't have you trying to be right?
And as to answer your question about "Battlestars"... How shall I explain this?
"Return of Convoy" was an uninspiring toyline, and I have to wonder if the storyline (not the manga) was meant for a different series. Plus, they did not even bother making it be better than Victory or even Zone... Which might as well have been the last series, even though Operation Combination was a far better series.

I should have remembered that.
Oh... And topic at hand... I am so hoping this is Ultra Magnus, and that it comes out before I have to surrender my money for my 2013 trip.

Aww. These learned fellas swinging their junk in the wind is probably the most inspiring thing about this topic.
In terms of the identy of the mystery figure, I'm going for plain old honkimus Prime (AKA Magnus in his underpants)

Ummm... Yeah... Thanks for making me feel ridiculed and villainous, you guys. It was not bad enough that this old Aspergers-Anxiety hybrid had to face that once again (as I am not sure which version of him I will get), but being told as if it is the conversation I wanted makes me feel oh so welcome here.
Think about it. Because I am 36 years old, have been a fan of Transformers for an estimated 28 years. And despite that, as well as everything else nobody knows about me (such as why I am so dedicated to Takara Tomy's line, why it has taken me this long to figure out what I want to collect, etc.)... I get lumped into something that I never asked for, and has me wonder if it a hint that I made the mistake or rejoining this site.
And that is all I am going to say, as that is how I feel right now.
Oh... And FYI, as I said before: I am hoping it is Ultra Magnus. If you asked me a week before, I would say it is because he has a Commander status. But now, it is because he actually contributed to the Headmasters series by doing more than defend Cybertron in two episodes. (Sorry Grimlock!)

I read that as 'arouses'. Freudian slip?
In any case, I don't really but Masterpieces, but could give in if it is a Magnus with Armour/Trailer.
