I'd love to be able to see an actual view of alt mode under-carriage, transformation speculation would be so much easier if we could see how it all goes together.

ok i may be getting 2 of these guys. 1 to display and one to sleep with. this is one of the most amazing figures ive ever seen.

We've already determined that this figure should be the same size or slightly larger than Grimlock. That being the case, it will be about 2 inches larger than Faith Leader Prime in Rodimus mode. I would think Hot Rod will be about an inch taller than him, but that's just a guess.

That's about as soft core as a teaser can get. I think there were clearer shots of the monster in Cloverfield than that slight of hand that was done.

The Rodimus head is fugly. I'd have been happy with just Hot Rod and a price cut.

I really want to order this but I see robotkingdom has it for $159, yahobby has for $155 and everywhere else has it for $199. Do you think i should order it from the places they have it cheaper or just preorder it from where I would prefer to buy it from?

The prices will all level out anyways correct? or if I order it lets say from robotkingdom for $159 i would get it at $159?

Robotkingdom and yahobby are overseas companies, so shipping will be higher on them than if you ordered it from BBTS or TFSource. You'll have to find out what shipping is and if it'll be cheaper.

What's wrong with EMS? Granted, it can be expensive, but seriously, if you've already paid that much, what's another $10-20.00?

I'd much rather pay a bit extra and get it with peace of mind and in a reasonable time frame, than to save money and wait 3 weeks to a month to get it, if at all.

That's the mail-away campaign item for 2010. By buying the figures in the campaign, you can collect points (think robot points) from the packages and send away for the base.

That's too bad. That base was really cool. Maybe I'll go to ebay for it.

Hot Rodimus looks fantastic. And the thing I like most is that he has decent size. The only thing I'm not satisfied with is the distance from neck to wings. But I'm sold, I'm getting this figure.

Do you have any concrete evidence or is this just an educated guess? My initial impression was that this is roughly the size of Grimlock as well, perhaps even a bit shorter. It would be nice if Takara would give us a picture of Rodimus next to another toy we are familiar with.

Yea would be easier if they just showed him off with something more recent or even someone from the MP line.

That said, yes I knew he could be Hot Rod and I think this looks pretty damn good, even if I'm not to fond of the character I could see myself picking this guy up if he gets released by Hasbro.

Hmmm.... well i would love to get it, but at that price I would rather hold for the american version. I love the idea of it being both Rodimus and Hot Rod at once, but at this point Protector is more of a must have figure for me.

Hot Rod was never a Targetmaster in Japan. His only release was in the Transformers Collection Reissue.

For all we know they gray models could well be large scale sculptures for getting the details down. The production molds may be more in scale with the classics re-release. I striongly doubt that it would be even half as big as Fort Max.

Why is everyone complaining about the price? TakaraTomy have done what everyone seemed to want and pulled off a 4 mold Masterpiece. We are getting Hot Rod, his alt, Rodimus Prime and his alt. Buying off BBTS is $50 per mode. At $160, you are paying $40 per mode. In the UK that equates to about £25. Voyager class toys are £20. Would I pay £100 for a 4 mode Masterpiece? Hell yeah.
