Are those film canister lids on his hips or what? And what are the sockets at the waist made from?

Whatever the answers, they're looking proper tasty already.

I used a urine sample container lid (unused btw) for the hip, and some left over gundam upper leg for the waist to give it the rotating articulation.

I think I could have gone without that info, but these are looking truely incredible.

Me too. Gundams are just gross. :P

Jaw dropping Artwork as always.

BTW how thick is the styrene that you use?

Looks great so far. Do you lay the shapes out by hand, or do you design them on a computer and then transfer them to the styrene? Just wondering....

-I use Styrene thicknes of 0.04, 0.06, and 0.08.

-I usually do the designs in my head, then I start the initial piece and just build from there. The only other layout I do is from stick figure drawings I make to help determine the scale of the figure, or sometimes I just compare the size from my other Transformers figure.

Cool. I was wondering, cause you inspired me to start work on my own MP Grimlock. This is the first time I've ever worked with Styrene before, but I started out and laid out the shapes on thin cardboard by hand and then cut the Styrene from there. It's coming along pretty good so far. I used to mainly mold things from scratch (or mold on/over other pieces) from this Epoxy resign that I use, but I'm really liking what I am able to do with the Styrene plastic and your work is really helping to push me to new levels. Thanks.

I love it. Finally a bot with a tail that isn't just a giant static lump stickin' out of their kester.
till all are one.

ramrider, didn't he already use an ironhides legs for grimlock, so this is a recycling of what is effectively a junk bot?
also, if taraka made something on a similar level to this, it would be an item worthy of being considered at least. but since the dinobots failed in japan and have few fanboys/girls, it won't happen.

S'right. I wasn't knocking it, if that's what you thought. I genuinely am impressed with the innovativeness of using Ironhide's whole arms to form Slag's dino neck pieces. It's nice to see bits being used for things other what they're intended for - proof that an arm doesn't have to be an arm.

These dinos ROCK! The proportions are perfect and they look like they're going to have some serious articulation. Can't wait for the next update...

HAHAHAHAHAHA... I love how his hind legs say "LAND CRUISER" on them. (Yeah, I only just noticed that. I'm tempted to say those should stay on there in his final finish, hehehe..)

You could do that. But I'm guessing that the lighter gear alone wouldn't project the sparks very well. I figure that if you can rip open a Sparkabot, you can at least see exactly how the sparks are not only generated, but also projected and focused. And the use of a flywheel would be a good way to prolong the blast; if you just used the lighter innards, it'd spark quickly and then stop.

I'm not too good with fire, I might end up burning the custom. Just out of the subject, I just need some opinions on which color is better, G1 or G2? ONe with the head and thighs in black with a red horns, or a red head with white thigh and horns. I personally like the one with the black head, but I still would like to know what the masses prefer.
