ONe with the head and thighs in black with a red horns, or a red head with white thigh and horns. I personally like the one with the black head, but I still would like to know what the masses prefer.

Actually, the sparks don't burn unless they've got something to ignite (as in a gas lighter). If you rev a Sparkabot, you can happily put your hand in the trail of sparks and not even feel it.
As for the colourscheme, I vote black head/red horns too. Although for the record, the red head isn't G2, it's just G1 cartoon (and sometimes comics). I'm not sure if it was based on a proto or something.

or just tear apart a lighter

You could do that. But I'm guessing that the lighter gear alone wouldn't project the sparks very well. I figure that if you can rip open a Sparkabot, you can at least see exactly how the sparks are not only generated, but also projected and focused. And the use of a flywheel would be a could way to prolong the blast; if you just used the lighter innards, it'd spark quickly and then stop.

good point. I have an old sparkbot and he's so warn out that I forgot what they did when they first came out. Mine does do just about the same as a lighter minus the gas.

So far it looks like G1 color is in the lead. The color scheme confuses me a bit. What I meant by G1 color is the color from the cartoon show - white/chrome horns, red face and white thighs. G2 color as in the one showing up mostly in comic books - black head/thighs, and red horns.

In that case, you may need to start the count all over again, since not everyone (in fact probably very few people) divides it like that. Yeah, G1 'toon had the red face, but most other sources had the black, and that's definitely what I call G1. G2 was a green triceratops with all the other colours staying the same (as the toy).

Oh I see, thanks for the info.

Ok I'll just ask for those who favors black head versus Red head. Opinions are highly appreciated.

Correct of the G2 coloring EXCEPT all thats was Cromed SILVER on his G1 self, was GOLD(G2) for the Toy's. I dont believe G2 had a Cartoon coloring scheme considering.

No, there was no G2 cartoon colouring.

But I dunno what Slag you're looking at, PF, but it's gotta be different to every G2 I've ever seen.
I just dug out my Slags, and everything that's chrome silver on the G1 is still silver on the G2, and the same goes for the chromed gold. It's literally just the darker matt silver that changes colour to green.
As far as I can see, it looks the same on TFU.info, too.

Here's their G1 entry:
http://tfu.info/1985/Autobot/Slag/slag.htm
And their G2:
http://tfu.info/1993/Autobot/Slag/slag.htm

And like I said, Mench0y, I'm for black.

I will toss my vote for the colors as 1985 G1 version, with the exception of the black head changed to red like the cartoon..I think you'd see more facial detailing colored in red.

Wow...

That's almost everything I ever dreamed of in a Masterpiece Dinobot.

The only thing I see so far that isn't absolutely perfect is a proportion issue with the torso. It seems a bit long. Is it in the plan (or possible) to either shorten the torso (if it's to be static) OR to incorporate 2 joints that collapse an inch or so, enabling the torso to shorten and the arms to be lowered? This could also be remedied by lengthening the arms.

Really what I'm seeing is the shortness of the arms. The fingers should be half way between the hip and knee for proper humanoid proportions.

Seriously Mench0y...you are an ace!

Gorgeous work as ever. I love that the dino head's as articulated as everything else! I agree with JAF though; I think it's probably the waist that could do with collapsing a couple of centimetres. I don't think you could really extend the arms without it looking awkward.

Ehh, I think it's awesome. Although it does seem to be the general consensus that there's a pattern with the long bodies. ^_^

-thanks guys. His body seems pretty skinny now, but I still have to put that mass on each sides of his chest to give him that V shaped body look.

Looks great. By the way, what do you use to putty the seams with?

-I use apoxie sculpt to fill up the seams.

Nice use of bottle caps.

he he.. thanks. Anything that will get the job done.
