see, on the beast mode, the upper bicep is going to rotate around and be the armpit side of the bot mode arm. That means when the wrist opens up, the robotic hand will face the opposite direction as the beast mode hand.
Not sure if I want the hooves in front of the knees, or behind the calves in bot mode. Can't wait to see your other leg design. I'm just glad to finally get back into this guy. Its been half a year since I first thought him up.

He was talking about the first design that Jimsloth did needed thumbs like Optimal Optimus. While yes the one i did up has hands/arms like TM primal

Does anyone else out there like the Minotaur design at all, or have any suggestions? I really like this creature for Ironhide for a few reasons:
1. The name Ironhide always made me think of cattle. Strong cattle.
2. This is one of the only mythical creatures I would think of as red. Many bulls have a natural dark red fur, and I couldn't picture Ironhide as a dragon, since we already have enough of them in this forum.
3. The R.I.D. Ironhide actually had a bull head decal on the hood, which is his chest in bot mode, same as this design.

Also check out the bull from beast machines, he was pretty cool and maybe it'll throw you in some new directions good or bad.

But the character is the leader in the dark ages series. And will be pretty much like a prime/convoy. Meaning a born leader/hero type of thing.

The pointy eyebrow details
The pointy armor edge detailing all over, especially on the chest, reminds me of flames
He is fairly lean/slim with a narrow chin, like a track star, or swimmer build. Thats how I picture the Rodimi, where as Ironhide is more bulk, like a football player.
I really love this drawing, but you have to admit, there is a vibe there. I say incorperate it. Hotrod/Rodimus did have that same Maroon/deep red color, and the helmut with the circle ear covers and mohawk. Maybe he was always a member of the Royal Guard or in some way related to Ironhide, a nephew or something. Ironhide was always a little headstrong/gunho, quick to rush in to battle, head first. Besides age him and Hotrod have very similar trates. Plus, when Hotrod gets the matrix and grows up into Rodimus Prime, he basically turns into a futuristic soccermom van!

I always thought Rodimus Prime looked like a small RV
Good points but in the story there are no groups based on Hotrod.(but a repaint in Hotrod colors would look cool on this) Plus the Royal Guard has all sizes characters. Remember i had a big guy in the grould, a really thin one and a female. So size really has nothing to do with this. Plus Lio conoy(shich this is based on) was pretty lean/thin as well. But once again it would look pretty cool in Hotrod colors. But we'll never know cause i cant color in photoshop to save my life.

However it may still look to much like a "Rodimus" so I did one with
white trim as well.

both sound good to me
Maybe you should make the lower sides of his helmet a bit longer/ thicker to make him look more like ironhide, because like i'm getting a strong hotrod vibe off him.
go Ironwing! lol

I also made some changes to the head, and added a head pic to the drawing. Does it still look like Hotrod?

I know he never had that in the cartoon, but that was actually the way I remembered it before I looked up screen cap.s, and I think its because there are real suits of armor with a pannel there, and then the rest of the helmut goes behind the ear. Ironhide was one helmut that always looked like it was designed from real armor.

Yeah after i did the pick i noticed the perspective of the mohawk. Im gonna go with the way yours looks. Not sure on the rest. I draw it up some tomorrow, cause im tired and dont want to think to hard. So i'll leave that for tomorrow.
