I recently bought a soundwave but i dont know if its a reissue or what. on the belt clip it says takara 74 83 japan just like the reissued one only it does not say hasbro anywere on it. can someone plz help me with it

Mine is not a reissue, but also says that. Do you have any pictures of it?

ill post some pics as soon as i get a hold of a camera, It has a lot of wear on it, the color around the glass frame is chrome idk if it was gold then faded or what.

Under lazerbeak wing it says Takara CO. LTD then under that it says Japan 1983

If the copyright said CHINA, then it's the reissue. If it's Japan, then it's the original.

If it has room to fit two cassettes in the chest it's a reissue.

Looks like an original, but that Decepticon symbol looks a little suspect. Could just be the image quality.

That copyright seems legit. And yes, the chest sticker does look questionable. The top portion is too straight.

See my copyrights aren't on the belt clip they are inside the battery compartment. The sticker though I don't find an issue, since there is repolables and what not.

The sticker could have come from anywhere, so I don't think that's any indication of the figure's origin.

The figure itself is legit base on the copyright and currently there is no Soundwave KO. Of course excluding the over size Soundwave and the 2 CassetteMan(legit & KO). The sticker is not.

As for the copyright location, the Reissue Soundwave has their copyright inside the battery compartment, not outside the belt clip.
The original Soundwave copyright location, I'm not sure. I think it's both. One version has it outside the clip e.g. the link above. Other, have inside.
