I think Hound is the only siege bot I'd keep in vehicle mode due to it being actionmaster vehiclesque where as most of the other siege bots had bad vehicle modes. The Classics hound along with a Ravage that were both better than the siege figures is still my go to at the mo.

Nice to see Hasbro stock the first wave on there, might be achance for those who missed bumblebee to get one eventually or have hopes of other 'old' store exclusives turning up on Pulse

Personally I don't think he's any more or less Cybertronian than Siege Sideswipe. Maybe instead of "Earth-like" I should have said "more G1ish."

I have Hound now, and I really like him. Both modes look nice, the transformation is simple enough to do, and when standing alongside my other Ark crew Autobots his darker colours go a long way towards breaking up all the red and white. I kind of regret not buying this figure earlier, only getting it nearly three years after the mould initially came out, but I'm happy to have it now.

If anything, the windshield, the rollbar and the sides and back.... basically the top half of the vehicle could use some tweaking.

Probably due to the proliferation of quasi-futuristic offroad/military earth vehicles with no specific branding in popular fiction right now. But, that doesn't make him not Cybertonian - just not a departure. Because he has to look like Hound in a recognizable sense there are obvious limitations to make him Cybertronian, but if they went that far, somebody would be crying about faux chests or something.

An Earth Mode for Hound would have to be a recognizably 'earth' mode (same as done for the others) for my taste. Hound with the earth gang (on Earth) just looks off.

I'm with Will. Hound just looks like a generic Earth military vehicle to me, nothing about it screams "Cybertronian". Sure, it doesn't look like a Willys Jeep, but it also lacks a bunch of the stuff we see in other Siege vehicles like rounded edges, excessive clear parts and nonsensical panel lines. How is Siege Hound any different from these aside from being meant to represent something a little smaller?

The only thing that stands out to me as not looking right if Siege Hound was rolling down an Earth road is the lack of texture on the tires.

Funny how a bunch of people complained loudly that Siege Optimus was just an Earth truck with extra lights, but don't think Hound is Earth enough.

Yeah, well I agree with Jelze. They'd at least have to address the grill, the weird ring thing. Granted, they wouldn't have to do a lot, but that's just another thing that makes it frustrating for me.

All the pictures in the world don't make Siege Hound an Earth jeep. Aside from 'preview' Astrotrain, there are no Earth modes. This is the same argument everybody was making with Sideswipe etc. "It's close enough to an Earth car, which means I don't have to re buy the same guy next year" except the rest of em are approximating 1980s style vehicles, which Siege Hound is not doing. And if you don't want to, that's fine. I however, would like both and 'forcing' it to be an Earth mode (or more specifically a 1980s-ish Earth mode) doesn't cut it for me when everybody else got one.

Hound, and frankly a lot of the Siege gang rely heavily on just looking vaguely space-y. This ranges from Sideswipe basically being a Countech to the Seekers all being flying pyramids. I own Hound in the form of Selects Hotshot and he reads as futuristic to me, which is enough to fit in an Earth display or a Cybertron display. In the end it comes down to personal preference, for any of these lines

I was a bit concerned at first playing with Barney, a.k.a Purple Paleotrex. I'm relieved to see that the clear plastic they used are not the hard brittle plastics of old, but a kinda rubbery material. I'm confident nothing will break over the years, but there's still a possibility of goopy plastifiers "sweat". I'll have to wait and see.

My Skelivore is pretty solid. Tricranius on the other hand is quite "gummy" in consistency. Fortunately it came towards the end of the hot weather season, though with AC on we try to keep it at 80 at the most inside. We will see next summer if there are any issues.

I know it's old news, but just generally speaking but is anyone else very underwhelmed by the third wave of Netflix figures? Even as a line of questionably necessary redecos (and a few original molds) I found the last wave to be exceptionally uninspired. Three generics, the umpteenth use of the Sideswipe mold, a barely redecoed Optimus Primal and Rattrap sold concurrently with their single carded versions, and a Cheetor redeco that manages to get as much right as it gets wrong (fixing the shades of blue and yellow but omitting half the paint apps. Like I've never been impressed by this line but I see this assortment (and residuals from wave 2) warming shelves at Walmart and I just wonder who they were meant for.

I agree. Plus the Netflix deco on Primal and Rattrap is "better" for many.

I also really love "dead Ironhide". Plus having another version of Deep Cover is pretty sweet. Having both the Select and Netflix Deep Covers along the regular Siege Sideswipe make for a pretty sweet trio.
