Could always be that Nemsis Prime's Earthmode so happens to look like a Cybertron truck.

Ignoring the series and all Nemesis (Siege) and Optimus (Earthrise) having two different looking truck modes despite their robot mode is in my opinion pretty cool.

Just because the toys are different doesn't mean much, I mean why would there be earth modes in Earthrise when theyre not supposed to reach earth till the end? I suspect that in the Netflix series, they won't reach earth straight away. Or they could have Nemesis Prime and prime clash several times on the way to earth, have prime land scan a new alt, have Nemesis land and not care about scanning a new alt as he just wants to find Prime and kill him. Final Battle ensures.

I don't even care so much for the fiction reason, I just think the Earthrise OP mold is a better, more fun toy, and wanted Nemesis on that mold for that reason. Siege is a good enough mold, but I just really prefer Earthrise.

My point was I think for the spoiler packs, fiction plays a big part on what is chosen. Plus there will probably be another nemy anyway, Hasbro/Takara hasn't met an Optimus mold yet they haven't painted black :lol:

A little disappointed that it's the Siege truck since I have the Takara Tomy version. Would really have preferred the Galaxy Upgrade or ER versions, but I'm sure Hasbro will catch up on those two eventually. I'm glad he comes with so much extra stuff to set him apart from the TT version and the colors appear to be a little ligher, but that might just be the lighting. The large stacks from the PotP version should also work on the truck mode even though the photographer didn't show it and that will definitely set apart the truck modes some with the trailer attached.

I think head canon wise the TT version will be Car Robots/RID Black Convoy/Scourge while this one will be straight up Nemesis Prime made by Unicron (a la Unicron Trilogy), which fits since we're getting so many movie figures (to say nothing of a giant Unicron). I want to stop short of calling him Grand Scourge, though.

Anyways this toy is all kinds of WTF as it combines 3 different toylines. No one got it right, obviously so. Pretty cool that I am surprised by it. Won,t get it though.

That's no rumor. Netflix Soundwave was confirmed upfront to come with Laserbeak and Ravage in the last Fan First Friday video.

I would have preferred the Earthrise mold, however, the Siege mold works better for Nemesis. Considering I never picked up Siege Optimus, this guy would look good next to Earthrise Optimus in both modes and make him look different than just being a repaint. I got POTP Nemesis, so I'll definitely pick up this Nemesis if I see him in stores.

I have a feeling Hasbro went with the Siege mold as they aren't giving Nemesis a Matrix so he has no need for an empty chest cavity that clearly holds a Matrix. I know PotP Nemesis had a Matrix but all the PotP leaders had a Matrix.

Nemesis has had a Matrix plenty of times, though, usually called the Dead Matrix, Dark Matrix, Matrix of Conquest, something like that. Many, many Nemesis Prime figures have had Matrixes.

you mean the figure that was so widely available that nobody outside of japan had access to it? so, because a few people in japan were able to buy it, it shouldn't see the light of day ever again, or be available to anyone else that may have wanted it? good argument >:oP

I presume the main reason beyond all else is because of the already existing AU Dead Optimus Prime.

Having two dark colored versions of the Earthrise mold might of not been in Hasbro's best interests.

Hot on the heels of the reveal of the contents of the second Leader Class Spoiler Pack for the Netflix Transformers War for Cybertron Trilogy series, which is exclusive to Walmart stores in the United States, comes some new images of the two upcoming Voyager Class 3-Packs for the second wave of product: Optimus Prime with Enerax and Sheeldron (sic) and Soundwave with Laserbeak and Ravage! These images come from Chinese website Weibo and were tipped off to us here at Seibertron.com by forum member transformers_va. These pictures appear to be professional product photographs of these figures in and out of package in what is assumed to be their finalized decos, though as we have seen this year, nothing is certain until we have the figures in hand! More on that in a bit. For now, take a look at these new promotional pics below.

We also have some interesting in-hand pictures from Weibo and Reddit to share, thanks to a tip from Seibertron.com forum user Omegatron. These are apparently in-hand pictures of Netflix Soundwave. The biggest difference from the product shots above, though, is that the visor on his face is YELLOW instead of red.

We have seen leaked test shots of other recent figures, such as Earthrise Ramjet and Dirge, with clear, colorless canopies that show up in the product photography on the box, but the actual products shipped had clear orange canopies instead. Similarly, in the product shot above, neither Optimus Prime nor Soundwave's product photos on the back of their boxes match what we can see of the actual product housed inside through the clear plastic window on the front of their respective boxes.

Soundwave is a given for me. I hope the final product really does have the cartoon accurate red visor. My one issue is that they didn't give Soundwave the red pinstripes on his wrists and shoulder cannon. They remembered those on the Siege version, and those parts haven't even been remolded on the Netflix version! Why drop them? I would have nixed the silver paint apps on the shoulders instead, as they were never screen accurate.

I'll be getting the Optimus Prime pack too, if only for the exclusive Battle Masters. Gotta Catch 'Em All! I'm not sure if I like the Netflix colors better than the regular Earthrise version of the figure, though. I do like that they FINALLY remembered to paint the yellow rectangle on the pelvis this time, and more of the lower legs are colored in blue instead of being left as gray plastic, but those truck windows look so drab without a little blue tint to them. The darker red and blue used also look more drab overall. It's going to come down to being able to have both the Earthrise and Netflix version in hand simultaneously to decide who gets to be the version of the figure I put in my display.

Welp, just preordered Nemesis. Personally I think it's a better value than the Takara exclusive. Now I'm hoping to actually find Soundwave in stores... or at least a decent price on eBay that isn't over $60.

So does this Soundwave turn into a tape deck then? I'll probably get him but I won't need the tapes so I'll sell those. I'll be getting Optimus, but I don't care about the gold battle masters, so I'll probably just sell those as well.
