At least it made it into the game's Soundwave boss fight (at 0:23):-Kanrabat- wrote:That was the bonus mode.Sabrblade wrote:Even Cybertronains dig good tunes.-Kanrabat- wrote:Deadput wrote:SS Bee Soundwave would just be another Boom-Box.
On CYBERTRON?
That would make absolutely no sense.

Too bad after FoC, it was over.
When it comes to alt modes, you have to take into consideration the function of the character in the fiction. Why was Soundwave a tape deck to begin with? It had to do with his function as the Cons' communications specialist. Sure, a tape deck itself might be outdated, but Soundwave shouldn't be turning into just some random vehicle in a fight. As the one responsible for short and long range communications, he shouldn't be fighting anyway, unless it's absolutely necessary. Ironically Soundwave was 1 of the best Con fighters in G1 when he wasn't sending messages.TF-fan kev777 wrote:Here is the thing for me with Soundwave and any potential Blaster retool. I really don't need a tape deck alt mode anymore.
This feeling really started for me in Titans Return, where I would put the whole line out on my pool table for a battle. Then convert them all to alt modes so they could charge each other. Then realize that a boom box can't do crap in this scene, so I had to load Blaster onto Fort Max and Soundwave onto Trypticon. Then it hit me, a tape deck is a really dumb alt mode for the year 2020.
So as meh as Siege Soundwave's space barge might be, it is still more fun for me personally that a tape deck.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

Technically Siege Soundwave could be seen a quadruple changer with the radio fan mode. Remember this, it's official?

No, not completely. The parts that form his Backpack on the Siege version are left out of the Netflix version. So you can get close bot not completely there as the top would be missing for the lamp post.

Did the animation lamp post have those extra parts?

If you're talking about the animation lamp post in the siege netflix series, I believe it did. But if you mean the animation lamp post from the G1 cartoon, then no if I remember correctly soundwaves chest served as the lamplight and he just kind of hunched over with his arms out

Yes, and in addition in G1, his legs merged into a single "post" for the lamp, so no matter what the Siege version is just an approximation of G1.

I have the PotP version and will also be getting the Netflix version. Not sure on whether I will keep the PotP version long term or not. The transformation for the cab to the smaller robot mode is pretty boring, but the transformation to the larger bot mode is nice and fun. The black color really helps to hide how ugly the back of the cab and the front of the trailer are on the regular OP version, and the extra weapons are nice, but mostly also duplicated for the Netflix version.
Having both molds already, if I was to choose only 1, it would probably be Netflix.
