As long as it's written by someone who speaks English, it already has my vote over all the nonsense we've gotten from Japan since 2000.

Hmmm.... can't really say a lot from this, other than it's probably from an opening sequece. Don't particulary like the style but if the stories are good I can easily over look that. As for who I think they're:
1)Prime
2) For some reason I see a seeker. I think it's Starscream.
3) Bumblebee
4) Honestly? I think it's a grinning fat guy with at least 2 chin rolls, a square head & one cat ear.
5) Those are definately wings but I don't think it's a Scourge look alike. Look at the shape of the head, he looks like Deszaras. Since Cyb. Megatron's head resembled Magmatron, I'd say this is the new Megs with a Deszaras homage body.

Me likey!

What little we have to go on from these pics looks very dynamic, very action-oriented. It'll be good to see something different done with the brand for a while, even though I'd love an eventual return to a Beast Wars-style show. It could be a real breath of fresh air. At least a look at the creative line-up suggests we're in for massively better animation than the crap the JTF studio of choice has been putting out for the last couple of years - models that look exactly like toys, but bigger, and animators who've apparently never heard of ideas like anticipation, lead & follow, energy release... ability to emote...

Personally, I am far more stoked about the idea of a couple of seasons of a well-written Teen Titans-style show than I am about any of the so-called 'realistic' stuff coming out in a couple of months' time.

The 'darkness' of the storylines of Beast Machines wasn't it's flaw, it was the predictable plot-twists, the complete plot-holes (Waspinator stuck around Earth for a while, then had the natives slingshot him to Cybertron in order to arrive before the Maximals? What?), the ret-conning of Cybertron's history, the mystical crap like meditating to transform and the magic tree, the annoying chracters (Nightscream, Botanica, and even Primal and Rattrap's personalities were altered to become unbearable)... etc. The following lines were cheesy kiddie fare, true, but they only came about because of the resulting backlash. If Beast Machines hadn't sucked so hard they wouldn't have scrapped Transtech.

Cool, but i can't really tell from that. It' so unclear, it could really rock or really suck. I would still prefer a series with the art style of Akira crossed with Masterforce and Gundam Wing, with a bit more detail, but whatever comes out i'll probably watch anyway, untill i can't watch anymore or until the series finish. I gotta say, i wouldn't want it to look like Teen Titans, or any other watered down, non-detailed style. Hopefully it kicks ass!!! Can't wait to see more.

NO I agree with you, it looks 'messed up' and very unmechanical, unlike the others with their sharp lines and curves, that one looks very haphazard...from what we can see.

When I saw the third picture, the style (sort of) brought this to my mind. [See attachment].

I can sort of see the first pic being Prime, but it is a bit of a stretch. The second pic is actually the one I honed in on at first as being Prime. Looking at it though, it is possible it is Prowl, or at least another TF that has the chevron.

Now that would be an interesting story plot, wouldn't it? Anyway, are those possibly wheels in the pic? That would not make much sense, though, because it takes up so much of the picture...

Hell yeah it's Clayface with a random cat ear on the right side of his head! Wait. What if the new cartoon is really a Transformers Vs DC story?

Goddamn it these guys should have been destroyed! I can already see a transformers cartoon. It reminds me of that Roboboy or whatever he is called, Star Wars, Samurai Jack on CN. I have to say that I was stupid to expect something from the creators of the children's cartoons.
Bring the people who made Gundam series. Then we would see some serius action.

By the time this show goes into production the designs will most likely change several times over before they get set in stone. Even the animation could change if they do a second season. I'm not gonna get my hopes up for a new show tell I see some animation test shots.

(Still hoping they do another Robotech and hopefully fill in some plot holes created when we editted Macross, Southern cross, and Mesopedia.)

Tell I see some test footage I'm not getting my hopes up. but heres my guesses

1: Optimus (possibly)
2: Starscream (machine wars toyline)
3: Bumblebbe, cliffjumper, Leader-1(thats douptful but, still possiblity)
4: Obsedian (beast machines)
5:hmmmm...I'll get back to you on that one...

Beast Machines left me wanting that Transtech concept to be done as a direct sequeal....

Prime and Bumblebee as 1 and 3 are almost certain. I was initially seeing 2 as Starscream, but now it's been mentioned, there's a certain Prowlness there as well. The others I have no idea about at all.

But I'm kinda looking forward to it. It may wind up an absolute pile, but it's something completely different to the other piles we've had to put up with the last few years. And this new turn may be just the jolt the franchise has been after. I never really got into Samurai Jack and all, but I do quite like the Teen Titans. If it's anything like that, I think we can expect quite a good balance of action and story. And unlike the previous fare, since it's written in English in the first place, it's not limited to having to fit in with the Japanese story, which, as I've said before, just isn't designed for Western audiences.

Bring it on, says I.
