Somewhere along the way, I manage to also buy G1 BB. It came with the rub symbol and his arms were as floppy as post......
......just got him off the blister box and already loose. Anyway, I'll be trying the floor polish fix to tighten it.
Oh the nostalgia. When I checked the package, he had a different face to that of the cartoon. Did I complain? Nooooooo. Present Gen TF collectors are really really fortunate.

Yeah, Bumblebee was my first as well, followed soon after by Skywarp. Unfortunately I lost him pretty quickly when I dropped him on the school bus and he rolled off to the back never to be seen again.
But while BB became a memory Skywarp became my most favorite character of all time, I sometimes wonder if that would have been the case if I hadn't lost him.
I remember where most of my Transformers came from. For example BB and Skywarp came from a discount store (officially a five and dime store) called McCrory's that closed in the mid-'90s. Most of my other childhood figures came from either Kmart or Zayre (which once had the same parent company as T.J. Maxx and BJ's Wholesale club) and Ames (which would later buy Zayre). Sadly, of all these stores only Kmart is still around, though Walmart would move into the area in the mid-'90s and Target some seven or eight years ago. I do have one vivid memory from way back of getting a G1 Brawl at a Toys R Us on a rare trip. Later on I got all of my G2 figures from Kmart and most of my Beast Wars/Machines stuff from Kmart and Walmart. Come RID 2001 and later the bulk of my buys would be Walmart, Target, and the internet with me making my first purchase off HLJ in 2001 (mainly for model kits), though I wouldn't buy a Japanese Transformer until 2003 (a Super Link Starscream on clearance off BBTS among various other things filling a huge box, back when they had $5 flat rate shipping). Now it's mainly the internet and Walmart for my purchases. For Japanese toys I get the bulk off AmiAmi though I'm finding myself using TFSource for heavier, more expensive figures.

I think it's a pretty awesome piece of mixed media kid art. It's even more impressive that it has survived.
Just think in the shattered glass universe evil Ryan just posted his "go-bots should be transformers" childhood drawing, we all gave goatees and we call http://www.gobeirtron.com home.

Pssh, that's awesome. Look at Stax with his totally rad product placement trailer!
But really, given when I was coming up, I always mixed up Gobots, Remco Zybots, Converters, and who knows how many random dollar store/knock off type figures in with my Transformers. I had to populate Countdown's base mode somehow! Of course these are, for the most part, shuffled away into boxes today.

TRAITOR!
Just kidding. My childhood was built on mixed media. Miraage, Pharoid, Bobba Fett, and Snake Eyes were my A Team. My go to squad, when others couldn't get the job done.
My first TF was yellow Cliffjumper. Who I think I thought was Bumblebee at the time of purchase. Probably in '84 at a store called Venture. My brother and I were aware of Transformers before they actually hit the shelves. We had a great comic shop in Kansas City, Clint's Comics, that some how had a connection on importing Japanese toys. they carried a lot of Diaclone. We didn't have any, but had friends who did.
I remember that the TF minis came in way before everything else. My brother and I were constantly on the look out for the bigger toys. We waited and watched for what seemed like forever. Finally one day we came across the bigger toys at an independent toy shop at the Country Club Plaza shopping district in KC. I got Mirage, and bro got Bluestreak. That's when we were really hooked.
I remember, I think for my 11th birthday, my Dad took me to Clint's to pick out some Japanese imports. It was a hard decision. I narrowed my decision down to Diaclone Slag and Machine Robo Turbo and Leader One, or box set Diaclone Constructicons. I chose Slag and the GoBots. I don't regret that decision today, because those three toys have survived. I don't think Diastator would have.
Thanks for digging up all these great feelings and memories Ryan, and thanks for this place.

My first TF toy was the 2007 movie final battle Jazz and I still have it..... But it is very damaged
I wish I looked after my TF toys better.
I am now collecting CHUG stuff and anything G1
I first started liking TF when my dad showed me old episodes of TF G1 on Youtube.
In 2010 my dad got me G1 Optimus Prime (2008 reissue) from a toy shop.
I lost interest till 2013 when I started to buy transformers again, but this time, I was careful with them and didn't really play with them.
Now I don't play with them at all, instead I display them on a shelf.
I have maybe 40? in my collection! (Which is not much at all)
And I have 2 masterpieces from
(MP-10 and Sunstorm)

My first Transformer was 2007 Movie Megatron voyager class on Christmas eve 2007, with the deluxe Bee coming the very next day on Christmas. I still love both of them. Bee has a little trouble with his automorph and chest, but he is still awesome. I love the guy! And Megs still stands proud as my largest Decepticon leader to date (CW Megs is an autobot, remember). Overall, the movies have great memories for me and some of my greatest toys and favorite toys come from the movies

I'm a bit late to the party I know, but I finally put together a gallery showcasing my own first Transformer: Beast Wars Megatron. For a 20 year-old toy, he's in pretty good condition, but he also shows signs of love/abuse (the line is blurry when you're a kid). Were it not for this guy, I might not be here today.
