New Hasbro Trademark - Transformers: Hybrids

Postby DeathBlast » Fri Apr 13, 2007 1:17 pm

The alternators toy line may actually continue under the name of hybrids or this maybe a new toy line altogether.

Maybe they'll be like Triple Changers or Fuzors. Or even triple changers that have one beast mode and one vehicle mode.

Or they could be two robots that become one vehicle or two vehicles that become one robot.

Hopefully it will be an awesome line that they release a handful of really good figures and then discontinue for some god-awful piece of crap.

hmm hybrid ... Sounds intriguing.

there so many things it could be.

It be awesome if it where Hasbro's attempt at THS. but its unlikely. Hasbro seems to tailor more to kids and have collectors as an afterthought.

And figures that are highly detailed yet lacking in stature, and easy to break. would hardly appeal to kids.

In any case it still has possibilities. I like the idea of triple changers beast vehicle Robot. although i think one mode is going to end up compromised by the other 2.

I have a feeling it would be the beast mode, Apeface & Snapdragon are a couple of prime examples of that.

Limousine! That reminds me of the Go-Bot, Tux. What child didn't want a limo that transformed into a bot with a top hat?

Exactly... Good idea, not the best execution.

.

They might be able to do a little better job now then they did then but you are right, at least one mode is going to suffer for the sake of the other two. I feel even Classics Astrotrain's train mode wasn't that great.

Congratulations on your 600th by the way!

Astrotrain is easily the weakest classic going. There are very few REALLY good tripple changers (Blitzwing being one of the few).

Thanx... Cool 600. I'm a targetmaster.

In any case, Yeah Classics Astrotrain, did suffer a bit in his train mode. But it still looked good.

In the case of Blitzwing. He's one of the best Triplechangers, but (and I say this with the utmost respect for him as he is my all time favorite Transformer) his robot mode is crap. tiny little arms, once piece leg set. no actual feet, only little wings??? He was not a good robot. But he's still my all time favorite just because he's a tank and a Plane.

so yeah one mode inevitably suffers for the other 2

however, the triple changing minicons, were not that bad.

Prowl (Cop car,Gun,Robot) was probably the best looking in all 3 modes.

All true, BUT, with today's technology, I think they could take the G1 design and mke a really good tf. And I happen to think his robot mode looks rather nice.

I really like the original Astrotrain and totally like the e-Hobby black and purple version. I just wasn't wild about his train mode and felt that the bot mode was a little flimsy.

I think the original triple changers were awesome though. Astrotrain, Blitzwing, Springer and even Sandstorm were all done pretty well.

Aww, blitzy :) :-P

In any case, i do tend to agree with you. With todays technology, hopefully they could make something that doesn't suffer as much.

I think Blitzwing with today's technology, could be done good justice. Keep the same principle, but add some feet and some poseable arms and fists along with some knees. The actual toy is well designed. it was just the lack of joint technology at the time that limited his robot mode.

You'd think they could improve on the design of Blitzwing. He is somewhat bulky but not that bad to me, what's Movie Starscream's excuse though?

At least Blitzwing has an excuse, they have to hide the tank portion somehow but all Starscream transforms into is a jet and a mutant moth man.
