An exclusive in Osaka, Japan, HeadRobots Night Rider is a black, gold, and red variation of their Headmaster Cobra. HeadRobots' intention was for Night Rider to act as Black Zarak's new headmaster. Sadly the figure has been sold out, so you'll have to go out of your way to acquire this figure. Fortunately for us all though, TFW2005 board member crasis was able to haul in the Black headmaster. I don't think that three repaints is working the mold that much. If I had the funds right now, I'd gladly part with my money for these much more than any of Fansproject's stuff.

Besides, six of G1s better characters were all repaints -

- Three Seekers (Screamers, Crackers, Warpy)
- Three Datsuns (Silvo, Smokey, Police-guy)

They should have started with this scheme. I say work the mold all they need to produce a high quality Hothead.

Bummer, this would go great with the black zarak I got off eBay. Though, it's trapped in a plexi case with an afa score:/ :hrumph:

You don't wanna open that Black Zarak anyways - it'd be nasty to discover it had already suffered the effects of GPS before anyone had even touched it.

Pretty cool. It's just...for the pic of Night Rider on Scorponok...I can't help but think that, having actually bought what I think is the "normal deco" Cobra figure, it's green and tan deco are better suited for the G1 Scorponok than the Night Rider deco.

If I had the money and repaints like this one were more widely available, I for one would gladly pick one up. Just as I feel the green/tan deco was better suited for G1 Scorponok, the Night Rider deco is better suited for Mindwipe.

Night Rider: A shadowy journey into the world of an upgrade for a toy that may as well not exist...because his gold parts will turn to dust if you actually play with him.

I don't suppose this implies HeadRobots knows anything about an upcoming reissue of Scorpinok and Black Zarak, does it? BZ would be an ideal candidate for reissue, given the state of originals in the aftermarket. They made reissue God Ginrai's gray darker so it wouldn't yellow like PM Op's, so making some sturdy gold plastic can't be too hard, right?

You're joking right? You certainly didn't buy that AFA graded Black Zarak only to open it. From a business perspective alone, you'd lose at least $1000 in value upon opening him. But hey? I should not be one to judge. It's your Black Zarak. Do with it what you like.

IMO, a carded Night Rider Cobra would look great next to a boxed Black Zarak. The artwork on Night Rider's card is fantastic.
