Once again we get information on the Japanese side of Transformers, courtesy of Cybergundam blog. Takara has sent out an update with a handful of new images of the upcoming MP-10 Masterpiece figure, Convoy (Optimus Prime). Sleeker and stylish than his predecessor, the pictures give us a better look at Convoy's robot dimensions, vehicle mode and accessories. Priced at 22,000 Yen, this figure is set for release in late September. Enjoy!

looks like it's a good think I never got any of the previous MP Optimus molds... This is the one to have, most definitely! Although I still don't fancy that price much.

I wonder if they'll improve on Megatron too!

which prime to get! takara's jaetpack or this one! though i will probably go with the jetpack one because i love primes that can fly and as i said recently i did not grow up with g1 or beast wars. i still love both g1 and beast wars more than the movies could ever make me but i still like movie asthetics better.

My only question is, if his alt mode has no doors, how does Spike fit into the cab?

Vehicle mode is where this Masterpiece shines for me. Unfortunately I rarely display my transformers in alt mode. Bot mode is slightly chubby. The arms are overly long looking and I don't like the head. Does anyone else get the feeling it transforms extremely similar to MP01?

I might wait and see what Hasbro gives us on this one. MP09 has made me wary of early adopting Masterpiece toys.

I'm sooooo happy with this guy. I've got the original MP-01, but this guy is much more accurate to season 2. If Hasbro ever releases this guy, he will be mine! I'm also hopefull for a new megatron!

That gun does look a little pathetic. I too never bought a MasterPiece Optimus. Still not sure which to go for.

Hate to say it but this mold is growing on me a lot. However, the small gun and odd logo placement on the trailer is a bit off-putting and the price tag is just too steep IMO. I'm definitely going to wait and see what the in-hand reviews are like and what Hasbro does with it.

This being the SECOND masterpiece, I wonder if the feet can finally be hidden in truck mode. I am sorry but MP-01 was NOT a masterpiece.

Shouldn't the front wheels be closer to the bumper? I don't recall any red body portion between the wheels and bumper. Looks pretty great tho.

Anyone notice the foldaway side mirrors? =P~

I'm still debating whether to get or not. MP10 bot can't top over MP1 bot. Indeed the short gun is pathetic, they should've add another sliding down barrel. I can deal with the logo being at the center, but the proportion of the lower leg and arm bother me a lot. I want to see more side view of leg kibble.

So...in the spirit of posts regarding new toys as of late, I feel compelled to continue the tradition:

This is a worthless piece of junk! I can't believe Takara decided to release this crap. What were they thinking? It is soooo bad that I am completely offended by the fact that it even exists. Heck, my WST Optimus is more cartoon accurate than this thing. They would have to PAY me to display this on my shelf. This makes Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime look like a brick of gold. And why didn't they put a little motor in roller so that he can roll around on his own? The least they could have done is added working LEDs and a R2-D2 beep sound effect. Soooo pathetic. And don't even get me started on the paint job. My 1.5 year old could have done a better job.

Haha actually these posts are not that bad, but lately things seem to be unrealistically negative. I am definitely getting this guy.
