Maybe he's a good guy at first and confused about who Megatron really was. Takes the name after a confused ideology. Becomes leader, it's a disaster - peace through tyranny gone wrong. Razors splinters off with the Predacons, giving him some initial disdain for beast forms but not full on genocidal desire towards them, of course. Autobots are a wreck, Decepticons are splintered, end the story with some bots making a new cool group called Maximals.

Seriously though. If Beast Wars Megatron was a Prime, that would just be very confusing for fiction.

IDW would definitely have to factor it in somehow; they have after all had crossover events for Titans Return and Combiner Wars. Not to mention they've had to put in Windblade and Victorion in prominent roles.
That said, how those events turned out and how those characters turned out often seemed to turn out different from what the 'main' canon for them intends. That's how it feels to me, at least.

IDW don't have to use this in thier stories things can change.


But I'm confident that no Decepticon or obscure guy will win this contest since neither of those kinds of characters ever win due to casual fans on places like Facebook or Youtube who only know pure G1

So if we eliminate all of those kind of characters are poll gets sorta lowered to


Ultra Magnus (I think him being a Magnus makes him unique since the only other reletively known one is just a background character with no impact on modern day so Ultra becoming a Prime would make him less bad ass then he is)

Hound (AOE popularity helps his chances with casual fans and I think him winning would benefit him most since really there is no negatives for him becoming Prime and it would bring G1 Hound back into the spotlight like he should of.)

Arcee (obligatory chick who doesn't deserve to be here over Springer)

Optimus Primal (Same thing with Magnus him becoming a Prime would wreck his character since Primal is a great leader who is interesting because he is not a Prime like Optimus but just a very good and kind leader with a bit more back bone then Optimus Prime)


I think the only Decepticon with a decent chance of winning is Megatron since he is the most popular Decepticon overall but Megatron is supposed to be the opposite of Prime him becoming one would just make Megatron not special at all I don't care if he is an Autobot in IDW which is fine but overall Megatron is the evil leader of the Decepticons especially in the toyline still.


(not a don't vote for the others post I'm just stating most likely contestants based on experience from previous fan votes and how the Autobots are more popular then the Decepticons to the casual fans especially because of the Bay movies)

Hound as a Prime could be very interesting because of his lack of spotlight, and great potential to be badass. I kinda hope he doesn't have the faceplate all the time though. I want him to be more like Rodimus with the mouth. Just have a more dynamic helmet.

What makes you think they'll use that fiction?

Megatronus was a member of the IDW Thirteen. He was the leader of Galvatron's tribe in ancient times.

I'm hoping this new hype for Power of the Primes doesn't reflect badly on the remainder of Titans Return. With Combiner Wars, by the time Titans Return was even rumored, the CW line was losing people's interest on a grand scale.

For collectors perhaps, but reports showed it sold week with kids. I want excited about these Headmasters, especially from non Headmaster characters, but my kids love the concept.

I'm just saying what I have seen from the past fan votes where it's usually Autobots that win and not just the two fan bulit ones but other fan posts in the past most people just like Autobots more and I'm guilty to say I'm one of them usually because the Autobots get better characters and more time to develop them in the first place because their good guys.


I'm rather poor to be buying titan sized figures I just usually stick with Voyager and under unless it's a big discount I don't know how to mail things so even if I did get you a Trypticon I wouldn't be able to send it to you.

If Hound wins, I can see Hasbro re-designing his vehicle mode to look like the Age of Extinction truck, or even the new truck from The Last Knight, to give the younger kids who only know the movies more incentive to get the toy. Considering how IDW's combiner wars and machinima combiner wars are competly different. These vote may only affect machinima. Know I am a 100% sure power of the primes will be an IDW event,but who knows I could be wrong. I probably am. My vote goes to I have know idea.

I personally think this new Prime is not just a toy/Machinima exclusive character. This is a big thing. It's a new age of a new Prime.

Just want to chip in; but while Power of the Primes will undoubtebly be an event for IDW... it doesn't necessarily mean a big change.
Remember Titans Return? And how everyone was so sure that Brainstorm and Chromedome were finally gonna become headmasters, and maybe a lot more characters would be to fit the theme of the toyline? And considering their large roles in the arc just prior, Astrotrain and Galvatron would get new toy-inspired bodies and be big players?
But then it turned out the extent of it was just Sentinel Prime, Sovereign and Fortress Maximus being a big mech suit?
The character who wins will undoubtedly get some prominence but they probably won't become Prime or anything like they will in Machinima and other promotional material. Heck, if there's a new toy form for them it'll either just be a new body for them like Bumblebee in the Costa era or just a powered-up form they only use once like Optimus Maximus. And Titan Fort Max. At most they'll be forced to have more appearances in crossover events like Windblade and Victorion... but even then, since unlike them this isn't a new character we're voting for, that's a little up in the air.
Just saying, but we're well past the days of IDW Combiner Wars... even if it wasn't that long ago. And even then, it's most long-lasting effects are some Combiners which don't show up much anymore (aside from Victorion) and the Colony Worlds thing which wasn't toyline inspired and everything pointed towards it eventually going to be done anyway.
Power of the Primes shouldn't affect IDW too much so we should stop acting as if it will.
