Woah, I'm so glad I'm not alone! Hound was my first Generation 1 style figure, and I've always loved the character. Would it be okay for me to include the link to that image in my signature?

It is rare, but it has been known to happen. Thunderwing was chosen in Primax 984.0 Gamma when the Matrix became corrupted.

Hence:

That was the Autobot matrix in that continuity anyways.

Regardless, if the figure is to come out in 2018, and it will be revealed in early 2017, then some work will had to have been done on all of them, as the development cycle of a TF figure is about 2 years.


Also, as I said in a previous reply to Deadput, I don't believe that the vote is rigged.

This is for the IDW universe, where the matrix has nothing to do with the Autobots at all. So it being the Autobot Matrix of leadership in G1 is irrelevant here.

Once again, I fail to see any mention of the Matrix as it is choosing a Decepticon.

Why can't it be the Matrix being corrupted like with Thunderwing in Marvel?
Why can't it be the Decepticon stealing the matrix and touting it around like with Starscream in IDW?
Why can't it be anything else that would land them with the matrix other than the matrix choosing them?

If the poll chooses a 'con, there'll be some reasoning for it in-story.

The IDW adds the results from the toyline this vote is from not the other way around so forget about IDW which is not as grand as everyone says it is since it's becoming worse and worse ever since season 2 of the current series of comics began.


The point of this contest/vote will be lost if the results do not give a true prime and just some guy claiming to be one.

Have any ideas for what one of the poll options would be called as a Prime? I'd love to hear them, so I made this topic

Here is some examples on what a Houndimus Prime could look like because you guys do realise that if these guys win they are going to get a new Prime body like Hot Rod so if Shockwave wins he will look like a prime with Shockwave colors, Gun hand and one eye above a faceplate.





On the left is the actual Hound toy on the Right is a military General Optimus Prime which has Hound's colors.






This unused GI Joe Optimus has a lot of Hound like features.



Obviously Hound would get a different face sculpt.

Ok I have pretty huge problem with three of the choices first being Starsaber and only because the power of the primes will most likely become an IDW event and Starsaber is a monster in the IDW continuity which the crew of the lost light can attest to,next Shockwave who most recently caused dark cybertron which basically contributed to the death of Bumblebee,and finally Thunderwimg who correct me if I am was the big bad of stormbringer. Megatron,Magnus,Hound,Arcee,Optimus Primal,and even Deathsaurus would make a good prime because he puts others before himself. But hey that's just may opinion.

I don't particularly see the problem with that, if anything IDW keeps getting better (Windblade's series in particular has seen a massive surge in quality), and I'd find it far more interesting to get a Decepticon Prime rather than just another Autobot Prime. I really don't see what would be interesting about Magnus or Hound as Prime - and especially not Star Saber. Megatron or Deathsaurus would be extremely interesting.
Besides, we're voting for the leader of Cybertron. Not the leader of the Autobots. Hence it's pretty much implied that we're voting in a post-war scenario. And who knows? Maybe the Matrix does sense something in Megatron. Something that could help lead the planet into prosperity that was lost in the war but perhaps could be rekindled.
I'm not saying this would happen, but that's the point - we don't know how this'll unfold. So I think it's a bit ridiculous to be making judgements now that they'll be a fake Prime or whatever. We'll just have to see

Why could we not just choose between some of the orginal 1984-1986 Autobots as contestants to become a Prime it would make more sense and bring more limelight to some characters who don't have the spotlight.

Literally a list like this would make more sense

Prowl
Jazz
Bumblebee
Ironhide
Blaster
Jetfire
Springer

Hell add Drift in there why not heck if a different version of Smokescreen almost became a Prime.


And why is Springer himself not on this list even in IDW Springer keeps being mentioned as Matrix compatible.

I'm with you Hound would make a cool Prime. In other words Hound has may vote.

A Decepticon Prime has never been in Transformers before now due to being a absolutely bad idea it's bad fan fiction amounts of Bad fan fiction.

The only con on this list that could live up to the Prime name is Deathasaurs.

Only Autobots or neutrals have been Primes because Prime is a name usually associated with good characters not including those corrupt Primes from the past in IDW who were not even real Primes


A bad guy is not a real Prime Shockwave is not a Prime, Megatron is not a real Prime, Thunderwing is not a real Prime, and Deathsaurus is not a real Prime even if he has shown to care about his comrades he is part of the evil Decepticons.


Decepticons are the bad guys and I have had enough of evil bad guy Primes and would mean Optimus or Rodimus can be the only good Primes to exist.


It's like making Trump or Hilary the Presidant just because their the leader of Cybertron as a whole and not either faction doesn't matter they would be fake people lying about being a Prime
