It looks better than it originally did but I'm still unimpressed. The design is unoriginal and the remolded parts look bad. I'd be more forgiving if this wasn't a convention exclusive.

Ya know, I bet this is what City Commander would have looked like in trailer mode, had they not given him the BFG that makes up the whole bottom half of the trailer.

Personally, I would rather have a repainted City Commander with a remolded Chest and Head pieces. Then just give him the smoke stacks for his shoulders, rather than the missile launchers.

Powermaster Prime wasn't my first Prime (the original was), but of the few TF toys I managed to get as a child, Powermaster Prime was by far one of my favorites. Since FansProject D.I.A Powered Commander first appeared in prototype images, I've FIENDED for a proper Powermaster upgrade for Classics Prime. If you can settle for 'Zeta' (too cool a name for too crap a product, unless it means its a final attempt EVER), good for you. But it ain't worth it. It's overpriced and under-made. Even if PM Prime armor NEVER gets made (which I cannot believe will occur with all the current third parties out there churning products out faster than wallets can keep up), Vector Zeta will never be a viable purchase for me.

I never said you didn't have a valid point. You're whining about another toy in a thread it has nothing to do with. You posted about his feet in a new thread you started, most, if not all...disagreed with you or didn't care.

So you bring that argument here, to another thread in the hopes of keeping your opinion alive and worth a damn. It is, to you. Not to us and it doesn't belong in this thread.

You have every right to whine about MP-10 in the thread you felt a need to create. We're talking about Vector Zeta. Nothing to do with MP-10. Your point is valid in general, but it's not valid here in this thread and it doesn't matter here in this thread.

There's a difference. You either can't see it or you choose not to. I'm going with choose.

MP-10 has a trailer to hide his shame (if that's really such a huge concern; it seems fine to me). This IS the trailer.

Back on topic:

I'd very much like to see someone color this in Photoshop, just so we can get an idea. I have neither the tools, nor the talent to do it, so I figured I'd ask one of our more capable members to tackle that.

Maybe the colors could save the robot mode, but nothing will save that trailer mode. That being said, for what it is, it's rather impressive. But only for the fact that it was produced. Most conventions such as Slagacon usually can't afford to have a production run of an item such as this. At least not one they made themselves. Dairycon has to repaint existing figures and make the boxes for them, and all of the other cons have a 3rd party make something special for them. So, with that in mind...Slagacon has respect from me, but that doesn't mean I like the product. I tried. I can't.

After seeing what this thing is going to look like, I don't feel so left out any more, and I still think DIA Commander makes a much better PM Optimus Prime.

I did a kitbash/custom here in case anyone is interested in what it could have been (sorry, if plugging my own custom thread is not allowed or deemed irrelevant by the mods/admins and if so, then please remove this reference to it).

I'd still like to see FP pull off a PM Optimus using their DIA/City Commander kit, I think with a few simple mods/add-ons it would be spot-on

Uggghhh. Wow, this thing is quite craptacular. I don't where to begin. And I hate to come across this way because I think it takes alot of courage to stick your neck out on the chopping block and try to design something like this because of the multitude of critical fans and the risk of ridicule. BUT having said that...I gotta be one of those critical fans. The head sculpt is terrible, too blocky (yes even for powermaster prime), the trailer mode looks like a bastard creation (it's got no papa), and what is up with those shoulders!?!? Is he trying out for the Iacon football team here or what. I'm definatley passing... I'm looking forward to the G2 Prime Trailer for RTS Prime thats about to be released. I'll let you other guys fight over this one on ebay (but what a waste of $$$$$). I have a feeling that another company will take a swipe at a PowerMaster Prime upgrade for Universe/Classics Prime so I'll patiently wait to see what else surfaces for this. I think were just seeing the begining of the 3rd party impact on this and other toylines. I agree with one of the comments above... FansProject saw this sculpt and laughed....ALOT.

That's the kicker. It's not a bad custon per say...but unfortunately, it isn't just that. It's a convention exclusive. No way I'd drop that kind of money on this.

Wow,I don't even slightly like this thing. personally it's all negatives & no positives.

Why isn't the trailer pushed on top of the legs in the optimus truck cab mode. where's the front wheels of the trailer.

The armor pieces seems to fit on the robot mode kinda cheap & easy looking.

Although this came from the aforementioned dA page, and sounds like it's his painting, not Slagacon's. Still, he color saves the bot mode, just needs some additional highlights.
