Man I hope they don't make this a habit of bringing out new version after new version. Personally I would only like 1 copy. The Best/Final copy. I don't mind movie makers taking their time to do it right, than to keep putting out new and updated versions of the same feature.
First we get TF1, then TF1 with extras, then TF1 - TF2 box set then.....I mean cmon I'm a fan but I only want the movie once.
How many versions are you willing to buy?

The 2007 movie is supposed to be released on blu ray September 2nd.
as far as extras go on it who knows but dvd release after release after release of the same title is as commonplace as repaints of the same figures almost.

Commonplace for movies in general or just the Transformers? And is that a good or bad thing for you?

Common for movies in general it's pretty bad a lot of times either it is slightly enhanced sometimes or new footage or new extras.
I kind of frown upon most of it and will not buy the vast majority or re-releases no matter what they say is on them or how good as it is just another way to rip off the consumers.
In the case of this movie there should be no further reason to make anymore releases except a trilogy pack if that's as many movies as they make.
In the case of the TF movie I had the two disc version but decided to get the target exclusive that the case transforms and gave the other copy to a friend...I've got the HD version saved in my Tivo and then I'm going to get a PS3 to serve as a blu ray player and another gaming platform, pretty sweet deal on the 40 GB PS3 where I can get the machine, two wireless game controllers, the blu ray remote controller, my choice of a blu ray title movie and my choice of a PS3 game for less than $600.00 otherwise a stand alone blu ray player only does one thing and a costs around $1000.00 I believe.
The blu ray player will also upconvert regular dvd's to enhance them.
