The one thing a TF cartoon is... is a break from Optimus and Megatron.

"Go-Bots Animated."
O and didn't Hasbro say the transformations wouldn't be anime sequences? Now why do they have to go and flat out lie to us all the time?

You know Grimlock and Slag are G1 characters right?
And it'd be weird to have a character named dinobot when they
have a group with the same name.
edit: and swoop is in animated

Uh, "That spider's" name is Blackarachnia, and it's obviously a completely different series to Beast Wars and Beast Machines. Yeesh.

First Go-Bots had its own cartoon in case you were 20 years behind.
And two, how do you know that those transformation sequences are not from the intro? And as I recall they said that they would not constantly be using stock transformations.

Thanks. I personally enjoy anime and find it of much higher quality than most American cartoons, so that combined with the fact that Transformers largely have been anime throughout their history, makes it kind of annoying when people complain about 'animeness'.People can dislike anime all they want, but they have to get their facts straight and keep in mind that most of the TF shows are anime.

What I posted wasn't entirely accurate, however, while the majority of the shows were created, produced, voiced, etc etc, by Japanese studios, the actual animation work has been outsourced at times to places such as Korea, China, and even the US, I believe. Regardless of this though, the fact that it's created by Japanese studios makes it anime.
But the first 4 seasons were prouced by Us companies!
I don't hate anime, I collect anime DVD, but not them kiddy stuff TF has been the last copple of times.
I stand again partially corrected, the original shows were created (conceptualized, produced, etc) by US companies, but animated by Japanese and Korean studios. The original G1 pilot and much of seasons 1 & 2, the animated Movie, and some of seasons 3 & 4 were animated by Toei Animation, a well-known japanese animation studio. The rest were shared by Japanese and Korean studios. After the show's demise in North America, Toei continued its production in Japan, creating Headmasters and so on.
Subsequent series, after Beast Wars, have been animated by other Anime studios.
And I've just discovered (if Wikipedia can be believed), that the new Animated is being animated overseas as well, but with a clearly American style.
This happens with a lot of cartoons these days, because the cost is less and the quality is higher than something done domestically. So I guess this begs the question, when is something anime?
Regardless, my overall point is just that you can't really diss Transformers for being 'too anime', when it's been anime all along. (I know that's not your opinion Dead Metal)

Simpsons is animated in Korea, but designed in the USA, same goes for TF: Animated.
"Anime" is usually defined by the style more than the location of where it is conceptualised and animated. Many Europena Studios are going into the "Anime" style due to it's growing popularity.

The OAV is the "feature length" season opener, so wouldn't it just be shown as the first "episode"?
Just asking, as I am not sure how Cartoon Network does these things, as I do not have Foxtel/Cable TV.

Stock transformations I might not mind, if we could only see the background! I am sick of them transforming in front of a wall of lights every time. Transforming within the scene without completely cutting away from the action for upwards of a minute looks way better to me and I know I am not the only one who feels this way.
And I call it "Go-Bots Animated" because after the glory of the movie I cannot stand something of such poor quality being branded with the now glorous name.
