New Transformers Knockoff Thread

But otherwise it looks real nice, and the Styrofoam tray just adds to the 80's feeling.
If this were the real deal I'd have no qualms about paying 85 bucks for it.
But for a knockoff it seems a little steep no matter how good the quality is.
30 maybe 40 bucks and I'd be all over it.

I am not a fan of the knock-offs no matter how good or bad they are,
but there is clearly a market for them but I am sorry to say that I have seen some people sell them as 'reissues' which I feel is wrong
not a great first post but I am overwhelmed by this forum and the substancial membership it has,

That one looks kind of interesting. Wonder how good the quality would be.
Probably not good

First time post here too for me.
I recieved my G1 accurate Shockwave knock off this morning and I have to say I am
VERY impressed ! The electronics work fine and the whole feel of the figure is
of exceptional quality, better than the recent Cassette Encore reissue and the re release of Sunstorm, both from Takara !
The only issue with it is the loose joints, however I have an old Shack-Wave I can use for
the "Ratchet" joints.
If anyone is on a tight budget I would reccomend these knock - off's, they are filling a gap in the market that Hasbro more than Takara are wrongly ignoring. If Hasbro cannot get off their arse and sort out the legal issues and give the fans what they want after 25 years of loyalty then Sc*ew them !

It's great to know that the Shockwave Zhong Jin KO remake is excelent

Optimus Prime: Great... but how are we gonna explain to capellamusic the hole on his wall?
Megatron: Hmm... a free natural air conditioning system?

I appologies if I came across as angry trans fan, was not my intention.
I thank Hasbro for 25 years of great merchandise, I got my first Transformer back in 1984 and loved them since. But, as a U.K fan we do tend to get sc*ewd on the figure front.
Come on Hasbro U.K, get the message !

Who owns the rights to this mould then, I assume that Hasbro own the likeness and name rights for the figure ? And if Hasbro do not hold legal rights over it is it technically classed as a knock - off ?

I'm not sure about it, but the news were posted in this site, I remember that. Maybe you can still find it...
I'm notsure I understood the question well. Do you mean if Hasbro reissued it if it would be considered a KO? It that's it, I guess so, as strange as it may seem :S .
Do you think you get screwed for TFs in UK? Well, think about it in Portugal... we don't get almost anything from TFs over here. Everything G1 has to come from online shops, and even apart from those reissues, not every other new figures are released here... I still haven't seen a single one from the Universe line-up in Toys'R'Us or any other place, except people buying online and then selling in eBay-like auction sites

I do believe "Toy Co toys of Japan" owns the rights to "Astro Magnum" aka Shockwave and Radio Shack licensed the toy under Galactic man.

They were at a Flea Market in Kentucky. Individually bagged on an assorted card
$1 each!!!!! I only got Two and have blended the kits to get one figure in practically the right colours.
Dont know if anyone has come across these before because I haven't run through the whole thread
