ALthough it's a little bit smaller than the other version (the older one that has the Spike head) and the head doesn't transform, it makes up for it in detail. An abundance of detail that wasn't on the older version. It even has the opening doors on the side of the city mode (absent from the other). I really need to make a photo review of this one. I like it alot.

Check out the Chinese KO combiners set. I only looked at the Devastator combiner but it doesn't look too bad, plus they are only $10 each.

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-BOX-TRANSFORMER ... dZViewItem

They list Devastator, Aerialbots, Protectobots, Menasor, Combaticons, Abominus, Aircraft Carrier, Trainbots. Plus they also have G1 Reissue Fortress (their exact words not mine :P ).

Brave Max?

Postby Aurax » Fri Apr 06, 2007 12:22 am

Hey gang... looking for a little assistance on what vintage this particular FortMax mold might be. The pics are from the vendor. Brave Max reissue or something?

It's the Car Robots(RID)recolor of Fort Max.

Less parts too in the reissue(no cog, and a couple less guns):

I think there was some super expensive set that had the sword for Brave Max with Fire Convoy and god Magnus.

Here's a new pic of my Predaking.

Well, here's some pics of the KO's LOC Scourge and Mini Brimstone.

This Knocks are made by the company Lian Ye, they have a good quality for be KO's, a "Simple Painted" and a very original style packaging

Package

The funniest thing on this was the phrases "The best welcome gifts for the children" and "A new alternative for a new millenium"

There's a small package version, but they're not painted (Scourge is only gray and orange without the silver painting)

Big Lots in Killeen TX has more of those BW Megatrons in both Dragon and T-Rex models. I picked up the blue Megatron/Cryotek today, they have plenty of em though.

I picked up that Mirage KO last week in a discount store for £1 [about $2], didn't bother with what I assume is Ironhide [the red truck with flames? I think perhaps the guys at ILM saw that and took some inspiration:P]. I've never seen the other ones shown there though as mine came in a totally different box and they were called 'Super Transforming Robo Heroes', but in the same line there is a PERFECT Prime KO... it comes with an energon axe and authentic G1 gun mould and everything. If I can find my USB lead later I will try and get some pics up. The build quality was hit or miss - cheap plastic and one leg is super loose whilst the other is super tight, but for the price it's pretty cool.

Big Lots? $2? dang, i just KNEW the Matrix was telling me to go there the other day, but i resisted, since the last visit showed that they were shrinking their toy section to make room for summer stuff.

Prime is the tallest. The point of his wings is about 5.5" Hot shot is the closest to his GF counterpart and also comes with a G1 Prime gun for some reason. I've had loads of fun with them.

It's about the size of a scout class, so it's cool. It's between the Legends and the real toys. I definitely want them.

The plastic feels cheap but I have transformed them several times with no breaks.

Motto: "It doesn't matter if the glass is half full or half empty, only that you work to make it full."

The plastic IS pretty cheap, but they're still lots more durable than, say, the knockoff combiners.

I've repainted three of the Starscream knockoffs, and am actually considering modifying the arms to have normal elbow movement.

Except for the Predaking KO. The quality of the plastic is very solid not cheaply made compared to the KO combiners you find in the Easter Baskets. Like I said before it's one of the best KO I've seen...
