The Universal Studios Japan theme park, in Osaka, is planning a revamp of their night parade and the new show will premiere on the 17th May 2018. Featuring some big blockbuster movie properties such as Harry Potter (already a big drive to the park), Jurassic World (capitalising on the existing Jurassic Park area of USJ) and Minions - plus, relevant to our interests, Transformers - the parade will last just under an hour, with around a hundred cast members part of the show.

In the clip and images below you can see the live-action movieverse designs of Optimus Prime and Megatron promoting the event by crashing into each other and fighting, with the Dark of the Moon drill worm making an appearance too. Is that Megatron's Movie 1 body when all the existing rides use his DOTM body?

I doubt it. What Universal Studios does for its parks usually isn't related to what other licencor companies (to which Universal is the licensee) do with their own goods and services.

Not only that, but the last picture is Movie 1 Megs with his ROTF murder arm/claw thing. Also of note, I think that's a new render of Bumblebee in this picture:

It's probably just something for this, but the design is making me think it's a studio series render. Not likely since we have 2 Bumblebees in the line already, but it would be really cool to have a new deluxe of Movie 1 Bee's concept Camaro mode.

Even so,the fact that they acknowledge this body exist pleases me.
Most merchandise seens to favor the ROTF design.
When this body gets a new sleeker toy,a think people's general impression of it will change.

Last month we covered the new Universal Studios Japan, based in Osaka, Night Parade plan, with a Transformers live action movie feature and float during the show. Thanks to a twenty minute video posted by L.C.A.Studios on YouTube (the official promotional branch for the park), we now also have a look at what it will look like until the next change in the Parade!

Shown during the "Universal Spectacle Night Parade" then , is an Optimus Prime float, with a giant animatronic Bumblebee and a whole crew of military / NEST soldiers (in some very bright outfits) showcasing the live-action Transformers universe. You can check it out below from the 8.35 minute mark onwards!

Three floats: Bumblebee, Megatron, and Optimus (vehicle mode).

English dialogue clips are used for the Megatron and Optimus floats, but that's definitely not clips of Peter Cullen's voice used for Optimus.

Megatron's float depicts his body from the first movie, but a sign on his float reads "CHICAGO" when that was the city his attacked in the third movie.
