At the end of the day can we blame them? After all collectible is just a mature word for toy right?

I keep hearing people say this. I believe that if they do that we will end up with more haters than Animated did. Seriously, it's a kid's show/toyline. To me personally that's it's biggest appeal, it takes me back to when I was a kid and TF just started. Makes me remember when the only thing I had to worry about was if my father's mustang was a Decepticon in hiding. But that's just me.

Please, no Beast Wars sequel or remake! The show was very good and it deserve a final rest (unlike G1 who is even more milked than Final Fantasy VII).

I am thinking that if they have a new cartoon that it will be bayformers based.

first choice would be a spin off/sequel for beast machines, but only if its the vehicons (thrust and Obsidian in particular) and the same style as BM, although a cartoon would be ok too.

Second choice would be a cartoon based in the movie-verse probably before the first film, or between 1 and 2

1) If they do a series based on the movies then they would have to share profits with Paramount, in other words, it's not in their best financial business.

2) It's been done already see http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_2_(cartoon)

I'm guessing you never watched the G2 cartoon. It wasn't an update, it was the same cartoon with stupid cg scene transitions added in. If anything I would consider Animated to be close to the type of update Bouncy X is describing.

You guess wrong.

I saw the G2 as it aired and was both pleased to see the episodes and ticked (to put it nicely) that they needed to add the crap to it. It did count as a reboot as they did market it as a different series than G1 (despite that it exactly was just that) and had you only watched G2 episodes, it stood on it's own.

Amimated also counts as a reboot as it doesn't require you to have any previous knowledge of TF's. If you simply want an update to G1, it was called Beast Wars. It might not have been an immediate continuation but it did update us, and was shown to be in the same timestream.

I would like to see a remake of the G1 cartoon ala IDW or Dreamwave. Same characters, similar transformations, different story.

I wouldn't mind a cartoon based in the movieverse, though I'd probably prefer something else, some new take. A show to go along with the Universe line would be entertaining, and allow Hasbro to explore onscreen the TF multiverse theory that we've seen in the comics by using G1 based, AEC based, and BW based characters.

Or, of course, they could do "TransFormers: Shattered Glass" but that'll never happen.

I don't think it would have more haters because in essence it's comedic nature is what I think the people who disliked Animated hated. Do I really need a half hour laughing at Bulkhead's dumb ass falling over and the stupid chief of police getting blown up like Wile Coyote and walking away from it? An older themed show could easily be as successful as a youth based one. Look at how successful shows like Bleach and Naruto have been with Children (even though they weren't necessarily geared towards them.) Another example would be the updated Wolverine and The X-Men show. It has a darker tone than most of the previous X-Men shows and it's still successful. And before anyone says anything about how their toys don't sell it has nothing to do with the show, it's just that those toys suck. Nothing on the X-Men figures of old.

Fact: The only way we get a new series is if there is a new line for it to follow, after all the shows are made as ads for the toys.

(and for any one that points fingers at GIJoe: Resolute it was there to push the not just the resolute figures but the 25th anniversary ones as well)

There is no doubt that there is interest for a host of ideas, (a resolute style show, continuations of existing ones, a cybertron only series to name a few) but there has to be a reason for Hasbro to set up a new series, and until we get a firm word, or signs of a new line, it's doubtful we'll get a new show until after the 3rd movie.

At this point I'd rather see another new and different take on all the "trademark" elements - Autobots, Decepticons, Optimus Prime, Megatron, etc. - with Mainframe-level computer animation.

As a point of clarification, Rainmaker (the current name for the studio, that was Mainframe) has been working on a new Reboot project and the art so far is excellent and beyond where they used to be. If the same tech was applied to a new TF series it would be quite good.

I just hope they do a different animation style from Animated. Seeing something with BM style graphics, but better character designs though could be nice.

That would be nice but they will probably take the acting work to Canada to save $. There is a new Pooh movie coming in 2011 so Cullen will be voicing Eeyore in this so Im happy.

While a new cartoon would be wonderful. The Bayformers Trilogy isn't up yet so they aren't going to accomplish much. They'll systematically kill it in the same quiet manner they killed TFA.

1) They'll delay the toys (this industry's bread and butter) to support ROTF toys

2) The network will air the show weekly so they'll blow through all the finished episodes way in advance, allowing casual interest to go stale long before the toys even touch shelves.

3) When the next movie comes out, the show's toys will be cut to minimal space in stores.

4) Assuming the new show remotely meets the storytelling chops of Animated, they'll pull the plug with half of it's plotlines unresolved (because for *SOME* reason the toys weren't selling ) so it doesn't dare diminish the hype parade surrounding Bay's newest monstrousity.

5) The cloying abomination will make millions and people who recognise there was nothing of substance will be disregarded as whiny idiots because money talks.

While it is still far into the future to guess about the next series, I dont think it will be anything like any previous shows or connected to them in anyways.

The new show will be a new concept like Transformers Animated was.

However I could be wrong, Well I guess we will finally learn something about the new show at the press conference or whatever they are doing.

My take on when the show will roll out Fall/Winter 2010.
