Pretty neat figure with some solid build quality. Transformation is pretty fiddly because of all the ball joints. Got him on clearance at bbts for about $14. I wouldn't suggest paying much more than that.

I just picked up South Park the Stick of Truth for the PS3 on the cheap. I've read good things. I think I'll start it this weekend early in the am. I'm still trying to decide which class to play; I'm leaning towards thief.

I blame our love of robits as to why my backlog remains....ok, one of many reasons lol
I never got a chance to get to Stick of Truth! Definitely heard it was good, though.
I have no idea how many hours I've been playing Persona5 now, but I know more than 110 and counting...

Kroc and the simple leg mod
Posted by no-one Wed Aug 16, 2017 11:50 am
Here he is in his straight out of the box vanilla form.
Now lets talk about this mod. It's partsformery, but super easy and completely reverse-able. Unscrew his rear croc legs from the inside of his bot legs. I put the screws back in so I wouldn't lose them. The screw can even be left in when we transform him back to beast mode. It adds a hair of height, but that's kinda needed with his rear legs.
From here we have two options. First double reverse. Take the two rear croc legs and move them to the reverse bot legs and slide them back on, having the beast legs fill in the hollow bot legs. The places where the beast legs slot/peg in still work. And you get this.
Pretty nice huh?
Second option is single reverse.
Just pull the beast leg off, twist it a bit on the ball joint and slide it back on the same leg. Not quite as clean of a look.
The benefit here being the screw hole is farther back on the outside of the bot leg, but the beast leg doesn't fill the gap well enough and is a bit more awkward.
There you go that's it. I prefer the double reverse method and it has become my default configuration for these guys.
So, anyone busting out a small phillip head tonight?

D, there's no harm in trying it. I did when I got Krok, wasn't sure how I felt about it then did it again and decided to stick with it.
Haven't gotten to Skulldragger yet.

#OnTheRoadWithSwerve : The Austin City Limits Edition
Posted by no-one Wed Aug 23, 2017 6:27 pm
If you're wondering, "just who in the scrap are the Fleet Foxes", then you've probably heard at least this song.
If not, it's a great jumping off point and worthy of a deep dive. They're definitely more of my wive's band but I do enjoy their music and the concert was great.
We got there a little early and I snapped a pic of Swerve.
I've been wanting to go to ACL for as long as I can remember. We're going back to see Alt-J in November. Most ACL performances get aired on PBS at some point, so keep an eye out.
We bashed around the hip hipster laden South Congress area the next day. We stopped at Home Slice to get NY style pizza sold by the slice. Nabbed a few drinks and a pic while there.
Also nabbed a picture of this Jack leg trying his damnedest to look cool with Mr. Rogers and King Friday.

We had an airbnb lined up but that fell through, so instead we stayed at the lovely downtown Days Inn.
But we were in walking distance to and Ethiopian food place. I haven't had any since Botcon, and I also lost round two.
I did have some Ethiopian beer and honey wine as well. Beer was good wine was super sweet, but still made a nice dessert.
I'll leave you with a sign I spotted in the restroom of a costume ship to ponder.

I would love to get to #acllive someday. I've enjoyed it on PBS since I was a microman.
Glad to see Voltron in the neighborhood. But, wondering the significance of the mural. Fred's Canadian.
At first I thought, that sign isn't unreasonable. I've seen it plenty of times in my life.
Then I realized.... that is aboutthe absolute worst type face they could have chosen. Bloody horror!

ACL was pretty amazing but I was sad to find out that this is not the original venue that we grew up watching. That kinda bummed me out. It was moved some time ago apparently.
Still a low key bucket list event
Can't wait to go back and I might even nab one of those $30 ACL shirts next time. Speaking of tunage, LCD just dropped a banger.
Now jam that on the one

I've seen ACL on PBS, and have heard of the Fleet Foxes - I'll give em a closer listen.
I just got back from the Oregon Coast, and thought these were funny.

We had the marine layer from the coast block us from seeing Venus and the planets, but saw the Total Eclipse otherwise. Wouldn't mind going on a vacation just to see one proper -- perhaps in S. America?

We've seen real life ones at Wakulla Springs. A highly recommended place to visit and if you go enough pages back you'll see Swerve there. NVM, the photobucket.com debacle killed that.
