They're growing on me and look better in pics than real life. He's a cool figure for sure and is a really neat deco. Normally when I get Mega Man figures I go for the standard blue. I don't want to go down the every weapon variant rabbit hole, but this one is tops and the armor bits are fun. I need to pop the cherry on my other two MM Sentinel figures (X & Volnutt). X has magnet feets! Sentinel makes good stuff.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I too love the little gold armor bits, he's adorable!

I'm literally the worst with lyrics. I don't hear them, I don't remember them, I don't understand them; but every once in a while a little glimmer of clarity hits me. I was listening to this song a few months ago and I think I finally got it. He doesn't recognize the grown man (not a child) in the mirror any more and to an extension his adult life. I can relate to that.

Wanna make somethin' of it?
First transformation from bot to gun with instructions took me about an hour and 15 minutes, but back to bot sans instructions was just under 30 min. I'll see how I do in the AM solo.
This figure is incredibly awesome and hella photogenic. I will say there were a lot of spots in the transformation that I felt like I was going break something or the QC was off and I just couldn't go any farther but then pop click, the panel was in place. It's pretty amazing how posable Megs is and he still turns into a gun. The biggest "AHA" moment was when the legs fold up into the handle. It was so cool, I had to back up and do it again.
Surprisingly I think the standard default head is my favorite, it just seems more like Megatron to me. I thought it was going to be the toy accurate head, which I really like very much. After swapping back and forth I finally put a finger on what it looks like, the IDW MtMtE pensive repentant Megatron.

What sorrow lies behind those yellow eyes?
At this point I'm torn - good thing they swap very easily.
He comes with a carpetbag full of accessories, most of which I don't care for (especially the battle damage parts). I'll fiddle around with them tomorrow, but to me Megatron is brawler with just an arm cannon. Although I do think I'll like the stock/silencer accessories at play time. Ultimately all but my default head and chest (hairy obvs, which needs to be panel lined to become extra hairy) will end up in the box in my closet.
I guess the real question is which type of Decepticon symbol should I slap on him? No outline, dull silver outline, shiny silver outline? I also not sure where (if at all) on the gun mode?

You know what'd be nice? Those raised symbols, but would it affect clearance?itscramtastic wrote:No outline!! Or white outline..

I rarely find the white outline symbols to look good on any figure so I'm leaning towards the clear or dull silver outlines (not a fan of the shiny ones I have). I also have two chest plates, so cake and eat it. I'm seriously considering white, black or even cooler the silver outline only symbols or gun mode. Badge him up but make it blend in more - robots in disguise and ****
Have a wide shot of that last pic.

The standard chest plate looks great with the clear backed toon symbol. They also happen to be slightly raised, so that makes them seem more premium.

Now that I've seen the pics up close and personal, I think I need either water slide or dry rub, them edges man
Well I just found some clear backed ones I forgot I had, time to swap out.
EDIT: But is this any better? I forgot these have a little white bits.

I'm not a big fan of the toon symbol, but that's just me and my hang-ups.
I got a good idea on how you could fill some black in those chest hair swirlys.
Use some black artists acrylic (Liquitex, or other artist grade) paint. Water it down to a wash.
Paint as sloppy as you need to to get the paint down in the recess. then lightly wipe the wet paint of the flat surface with a cloth or paper towel before it dries.
Used to use this technique on D&D lead miniatures and the panel lines of robot models.

I'm thinking either dry rub or water slide. Both will go on with next to no edges. I don't much care for the toon style either.Cobotron wrote:I don't know, m'man. They don't look that bad in the pics. I don't think you'll find a sticker that won't have an edge.

I have a panel line gundam pen and I know the technique of panel lining with a brush. Like you said watered down paint or Tamiya panel line accent color. You just tap the brush in the line and like magic it fills in.
I'm also considering just letting it roll as is, has a certain charm to it.
