Well I just picked up some of my brand 10 year scotch. I will call that cake when I get home. I still haven't opened the 18 year yet, but soon....

Also, most whisky distilleries are dropping aged stuff :BOOM:

Well normally the 10yr is nothing to get excited about. It's their normal or default stuff and what I always buy. It's getting hard to find now and it was a few dollars less than it is in my neck of the woods. Let's not talk about how much we paid for the 18yr :ic$:

Why? May be hard to say because I thought it was just my brand. I talked to a guy who was not only an enthusiast but makes his living selling booze. He told me that basically "they" are just running out of supply and competition just follow suite. So it's a supply issue and a dollar monies issue. Why put in the effort if you can make the same amount for less work, especially if erryone is doing it.

I see the really old stuff staying with age statements on the bottle and small distilleries specializing in aged whisky with the large ones following suite once reserves are back up.

I'm a Scotch drinker and more specifically an Islay Island Scotch drinker. So really those folks are supplying a very large market.

Well I plan on picking up a few more bottles from other distilleries to have a nice selection for the big 4-0! Steak, cigars and Scotch, who's in?
