You should try the Botonist gin from Islay Island. Quite excellent mixed or by itself.
Laphroaig is my whisky of choice, but I had a glass of 14 year old Oban not to long ago...

I have a really excellent Japanese whisky recently: Suntory Toki, highly recommended.
I'm also on a stout and porter beer only rule for the winter.
