If ya haven't heard I got a thing today.

This is a set I've wanted since the moment I saw it. It also happens to have two molds I've never handled. It is also my first platinum set. So I'm going handle this a little different than usual. I'm going to snap and upload pics as I open and play with the figures, posting thoughts and commentary as I go.

As of this post I still haven't even opened the box. I invite you to ride along with me. See ya in a few. ;)^

My gut said go with OP first, so I did the opposite.

Uh oh Prime, I may only get to play with one toy tonight.

Initial thoughts: these guys are heavy and dense. The plastic is slickery and nice. Ratchets are nice and clicky. I'm coming to terms with Megs wings, but articulation seems good. OK a few more poses then transformation.

This is awesome Cary. I believe that this is the best Megatron mold we have ever gotten and looking at your thoughts I would have preferred you have written the entry on my list. Since you are jotting down exactly what makes him amazing. You didnt talk about the click the trigger makes when you pull it (maybe it doesnt click on yours, but I hope it does). Its a small thing but like the crosshairs, its a nice addition that goes a long way. And yes, he is complicated, but in a good way. Complex due to how different the modes are, not because needlessly complex and not annoying. He's a perfect toy and your version is the best deco Hasbro ever released that mold in.

Now lower your expectations for Optimus, he<s good but not Megatron good

Not in terms of complexity, but I did find that kind of great plastic on another figure recently.... CW Cyclonus. And I was very surprised.

I don't know Will. I'm very impressed with Prime. In fact he may be the best Prime I've handled outside of MP10. I've realized that the Gen Orion pulled a lot of design queues from this fellow.

Yup, the trigger clicks, clicks real good.

I'm liking Prime. Again, a big heavy dense bot. A little kibbly, but it doesn't take from the articulation. Sculpting is amazing as is the paint job. All nice and sparky like I like it. Cobs put it best, they don't make em like this any more.

Oops, forgot the knee pads.

Yup, light piping, suck it TR/CW.

The backpack peg is fun.

Yeah, this is an great Prime and I'm very happy with him. Loving the deco and I'm glad I waited for this guy instead of the Evo one that came with the AoE Evasion OP. He's a posable (the waist in particular), heavy fun figure that looks great. Now to transform him.

Hey in this case I don't mind being told so. Yes, truly a classic. I'm very happy. Most of the way through transformation. Arms threw me for a bit, but I got it. I do wish we could get a prime that doesn't default legs as the back of the truck, but I don't see an easy way around that.

I wanna say there is one though. Lil Orion's legs are a little bit of both.

Bah, UW don't count and neither does Groove when 99.9% of the figures lack light piping. [-(

Prime is nice, I like him and I'm very happy with the set. Predictable transformations are kinda Primes thing. Legs become the back, head tucks in the top, arms fold to the side. It wasn't bad, but I'm always hoping for a few tricks.

Megs was satisfying in that rubiks cube kinda way, but with out the huge and silly it makes up 80% of the gun kibble wings he'd look like ****. But hey, that's part of the mold.

Either way I'm very satisfied with the set and I had my expectations pretty high, so that's saying something.

Guess I should snap some truck pics and talk about them clear panels.
