Ah, hahaha. Yup, pretty neat lil dudette. Nice posablity too. I think you can nab the entire group for like $60 at BBTS.

Nope $80. I'd highly recommend getting at least one. That Wasper looks pretty dope. I may have to start a new PoL and nab Hub or Bump.

I like that figure a lot. He gets a lot of critz from the fans, but I don't know why. I think he's real cool. Like Miles Davis cool.

ImageI can see this line becoming a very dangerous obsession.
Aren't they some cute lil boogers? I could easily get sucked in on these too, but I can't bring myself to pay the import prices on them. Especially when there are so many big bots out there. But ya, they are Fun with a capital F!

They remind me of penny racers or those little G1 bots like Bee.
Do you know the history behind the G1 mini bots? If not I'd love to tell you. You pretty much hit the nail with the above statement.
I would also tell you the history of Q if you don't already know, and would like to. :D

I don't know either and I'm always up for story time! Them Q formers are some cute lil bots. At 10 bucks a pop it will be too easy to toss them in a PoL or stack when ordering other stuff.

PS, don't bogart that light pipe.

cool.

Alright. Check it out.
Microman was a 3 inch tall race of aliens who came from outer space and "used your desk as base", as it read on the awesomely badly translated Microman packaging. One of their schticks was that they could hide there tech in everyday earth objects. Hence, cassette tapes that turned into helicopters, or tape decks, microscopes, and hand guns that turned into robot sentinel.

Ok, so Takara made what we knew as kids as Penny Racers. they were imported over here by somebody, maybe Hasbro? I don't know what they were called in Japan. Maybe Q? But the G1 mini bots came from the Microman toy line and they were robot sentinels disguised as everyday Earth toys. They were specifically designed in that SD car aesthetic to look like the Penny Racer toys. Bee and Cliff even have an approximation of the penny slot in the back, that is the plate that there heads are on.
Soooooooooooooo, the G1 mini bots WERE Penny Racers!

Now, Q was an evolution of the Penny Racer toys, whatever they were called, made by Takara.
they got there names from the pattern their little pull engines caused them to drive in. You would pull them back and they would drive in a big circle, then, right at the end, they would get this little burst of power and do a tight little 360 loopty loo, creating the little curly tail of the "Q". Q went on for years, and got all kinds of different cars and robots with those little pull back motors in them. I had/have some from the 80's that were from a popular robot series called Dugram, and they sort of "transformed".

So Q is an old line mostly focusing on cute little super deformed cars. And this new line is just an extension of that, but minus the pull engine, and plus way better transformations.

Was that interesting? Are you glad you know that?
Want another hit off this light pipe?  :BLACKEYE: I-)

P.S. Thanks for the inspirato for my new sig. ;)

YES, YES & YES.

Well, I was about to try and embed a sound clip here, but I decided to stop before the elite guard shows up and makes us stop.

Dood, micromen sound way cool. I wish Hasbro would have just straight ported those guys over here. That sounds like the ultimate kid toy. Almost like toyception. It's like the fiction is in your hands... :HALUC:

Well... too much for me. I'm going go get some fresh air.

BTW, I'm loving that sig. We should start a Jazz Club Gang.

The Jazz Trio

Well, we got ourselves a trio now. Fortunately I have 3 different Jazz molds. I'm going have to borrow that snazzy movieverse Jazzerciser if we pick up any more band mates.

That FoC visor is really doing it for me, but minus points for no door wings. Man, I love me some door wings. Door wings and hood chesticles are the best!

SCAT! Dats all I got. I know it's a shame, and I live just out side of New Orleans

FoC Sideswipe

Postby no-one » Sun Oct 04, 2015 8:59 am

So I was putting away my play pretties as I tend to do and I saw FoC Sideswipe standing there looking sad and neglected. He came with this big honking gun modeled after the "Path Blaster" from the game (which is OP's default weapon) and I've never been able to get a good pose with it. It's really heavy. So I go for this under arm sling mode and I'm trying to get SS's other arm to help support the weight of this beast and low and behold; I just found out the damn cannon extends.

I present to you for your viewing pleasure:

Heavy Artillery FoC Sideswipe

Image

And just check out this BFG!

Image

Bonus name: Lean Back Mode Sideswipe. Now he stands on my FoC shelf proudly, with a pose all his own.

And it extends just a bit farther. I didn't pull it until it clicks. It went from being that weird awkward gun to being the diggity dope up front and center piece of the FoC cubby. I kept playing around and came up with another pose for my lil red buddy.

Great photos! I'm so on the fence about the Leader Seekers. That hardest thing is I already know they are cool TFs thanks to JF, so their even harder to resist.

Hey, I was lost in thought and it came to me, the original toy line that the Q, and I think Penny Racers came out of was called Choro-Q. (and I'm not talking about the all omnipotent alien race from the Q Continuum)

Flee bop, a sqwee bop, a flew flum flauw!

Leader Seeker, Hmmmm...

Postby no-one » Sun Oct 04, 2015 11:57 pm

My take on the leader Seekers, that is my $26 take. I probably won't be getting any more MP seekers and I wanted a TC with a unique look to stand with my MP Starscream when he arrives (Monday ).

Great mold, sexy alt mode and a ton of pew pew comes with them. No mask like JF, but two extra guns, the null rays. TC is keeping those, the rest will be handed out to new 'Con recuits. Viper had already claimed two.

Again at $26, that was a super easy pickup and I'm very happy.

TC may have taken a couple flights around the house before coming to rest on the "MP" shelf.

I've heard of Choro-Q before. Not sure why, probably on one of the toy store sites or here on lovely Seibertron. Which, according to the Twincast, is not pronounced the way I expected it to be. I'm still having a hard time with that. Sabertron?!? Ima gonna keep mispronouncing in my head.

Beep boop skee weeeeee

Wait that's R2 not scat, derp.

EDIT: I just had a bit of late night inspiration. I've never been a big fan of all that showy chrome pew pew that Jetfire came with. So I just did a pew pew swap and I'm thinking I like it quite a bit. Also Viper is looking good with some comically oversized blinged out cannons. The GI 'Con seems pretty comfy showing off.

I'll try and remember to drop some pics after work.

Didn't see MP Starscream at the one TRU I went to, but they had a LOT of Combiner Wars stuff. Also didn't see the Megatronus that has now been released (Warrior/deluxe class that is)..BUT! MP Hot Rodimus AND Shockwave official announcements AND colors?! Pre-ordered!! Cancelled my DX9 Carry as TRU MP09 can now be "Rodimus Prime" only. Still have DX9 Tyrant pre-ordered though, unless Takara goes bananas and releases Galvatron.

I'm giving this "it's own thread" idea some thought. We should convene this evening and swap notes. I think it would be great to
A. Get more folks involved, and
B. Get it out in the "public" eye, so even those who can't/won't participate, can lurky loo.
