NOT a Masterpiece...
To all the nay-sayers who keep telling me you can't hide MP-10 Optimus Prime's ridiculous huge feet in truck mode. Well they found a way to do it 20 some years ago...

Oh yes they managed to hide those, but did they even look like feet or a truck bed? No.
Also, how good was PM Prime cab robot? It was a piece of sh*t that had a truck cab hanging off of it's back.
Just get over MP-10 favouring the bot-mode and get yourself a model of a truck if you want a realistic truck.

You don't need to keep telling someone to get a model truck, if you don't like the opinion don't comment on it so much.

Yeah I just expected as much detail to the back as with the front.

Im sure in the cartoon he still had his legs stuck out the back as taillights... and thats kinda the "iconic" part of G1 prime. I'm sure many comics depicted his truck mode with his feet poking out...
Im ok with the whole feet-as-truckbed design

I am fine with feet being in there, I just wish they were *IN* there.

sir, thank you for serving our country.
I agree with others the PMOP toy was awful. it was inferior to the 1984 optimus prime toy in every way.
I honestly don't care about the truck cab mode not being model/realistic accurate. all i care about is the robot mode.
i'll buy mp-10 when hasbro releases it in america for under $59.99 minus the trailer. hopefully it's not a TRU store exclusive because tru hardly ever does clearance prices on their TF store exclusives. i kinda want it to be a walmart store exclusive.

Fellow Transfans, the only thing I am trying to talk about is MP-10's feet. If they can kind of hide them this well on PMOP, then MP-10 should not have any feet showing. That's all.

You're comparing a figure from 2011 to a toy from 1988. That's comparing apples and oranges, as each was designed with a different aesthetic, based on technology, and fun factor. PMOP was meant to be a toy, and created in a time where technology was limited and articulation wasn't the main concern. MP-10 is a collector's figure, and an high end one with today's technologies.

If I recall right from when I had a PMOP as a kid, that POS's feet didn't even separate. He was truly awful compared to anything made today.

I don't have the figure yet (in my Pile of Loot still) but I kind of agree with the original poster. At $250, I hope for perfection. Sure, as it stands (no pun intended) it looks to be an excellent figure and I look forward to being happy with it. But it sure would be nice if I could look at it and think that it was perfect without exception.

If we're going to compare PMOP to MP-10 then we must also consider that MP-10 has something called ARTICULATION. He also has a transformation that requires moving more than three parts.
MP-10 has a great front cab part and a passable back part. Robot mode rocks. I don't understand why this guys hates the figure so much.

If Hasbro does release one without a trailer, I might get it. No way in hell am I buying one as it is. If it doesn't get released, I don't get one. Unless someone wants to sell it online by itself and keep the trailer. BTW, does MP-10 still have diecast parts?

I dunno, to me, the feet are probably the least of the problems of that back half.

I guess it doesn't look terrible, but it doesn't look the slightest bit accurate to an actual truck either. The back half is way too thick with the crotch and legs...
I mean, get rid of the feet and it still looks like crap:
But slim it down and it starts to look like an actual truck:
Forgive my hack editing, but that's my issue with MP-10's alt mode.

Agree and it is not perfect. Not $250 perfect anyway.

Re: NOT a Masterpiece...
I notice the Masterpiece Transformers toys receive the worst critism out of all the Transformers new toys that get released. I think the exspensive price is the NUMBER ONE REASON. Fans want super extreme perfection because of the big bucks their spending on these MP TF toys.
We as Transformers fans have 2 options: (1) I need it ASAP,So i'll buy the more exspensive Takara MP TF toy. (2) I don't need it right now, i'm willing to wait forever until the more cheaper Hasbro MP TF toy gets released.

That might be true generally, but for me individually, it's not the #1 reason. For me, it's the classification "MASTERPIECE" meaning that it's the best version of a certain figure in existence. If they're gonna call it that, it had better live up to that. So far, out of the ones I have seen and held, Only Grimlock qualifies. Not even Rodimus, though both he and MP-01 are close. The rest I have only seen in packaging and shelves, and have no interest in. I would say price is the #2 reason for me.

I agree the rear of the trailer could have been designed a better to make it look more authentic. But I don't think it ruins the figure.

MP-01 deserves the Masterpiece title. It was released almost 8 years ago and was a marvel to Transformers fans. I agree more with deathy. The price is the only thing holding me back. I'm impressed with MP-10, but for a smaller figure and no die-cast, they should've passed on some savings to us collectors. Oh, I'll get him eventually, but right now MP-10 is just lower on my purchase list.

I'm not sure but i'm safely Guess that MP-10 Convoy has at least some diecast metal parts. maybe in the feet. most MP TF toys at least try to have some tiny amount of diecast metal parts.
I'll check You-Tube & see a MP-10 Convoy toy review. to see if the toy has any diecast metal parts or not.

Yeah, I correct myself. MP-01 can be called Masterpiece. It was revolutionary at the time. So I guess all its repaints can be as well...
And I figured there would be some diecast, at least the feet and the chest.
