Yeah, this is one of the most show-accurate toys they've made, so I'm surprised by the negative reaction.

This would be the fifth wave. The second wave was Thundercracker and Hoist.

Oh yea. so why is everyone calling it wave 3?

T-Macksimus wrote: As for Crosscut... I don't even have a Skids version yet and, in all honesty, I am extremely disappointed that Hasbro is pumping out the repaints on the Generations line.
Bumblebee to Goldfire, that one I can see. It's still the same basic character and I'm cool with that but recycling for entirely different characters has always bugged me even back in the G1 days (G1 Seekers excluded)
This Crosscut repaint is so uninspired I was ready for a nap after seeing it.

That's possibly one of the craziest things I've read on these forums. When was it decided that only one mode of each Transformer is relevant? I must've missed that meeting. It's crazy to think how much money we've all wasted on redundant transformation engineering.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

He's right though, the bot-mode is the main attraction.
So the tank mode sucks, doesn't really matter, I mean who buys these things to display them in alt-mode anyway?

The main attraction for you maybe, and probably a whole lot of people. I personally don't buy them for the alt. modes. I don't buy them for the robot modes either. I buy them because you're getting two, sometimes three toys for the price of one. Surely one of the joys of being a collector in this fandom is that we can transform our collections if we feel like changing things up.

Same here for the most part, particularly when it comes to Beast Wars. I've gone as far as modding some of my figures to the point where they no longer transform at all in order to achieve more accurate looking bot modes. I wouldn't make such sacrifices if they were just transforming toys to me. The character means more than the gimmick (even if that gimmick is the main attraction for the franchise, i.e. "transforming").
It is better when both modes work well, but if one is just kinda "meh", that's OK with me as long as the mode I care more about/will be displaying it in is done proper (in this case the bot modes), then that's enough for me to be willing to pay for it.

Same here, characters from Beast Wars, Prime and the Movies meed to be done as non-transforming highly articulate and detailed action figures to be done justice, there is just too much cheating and or complexity to do them justice as transforming toys. That's why Movie model Kit Prime is better than ROTF Leader Class Prime.

His shoulders and hips. Neither allow for very much movement in certain directions.
Especially his hips, mine doesn't really stand upright correctly.
