If you kill someone with a knife, you have to walk up to the person, pull out your knife, draw your arm back, and thrust the blade into their body. You watch them die, watch the light leave their eyes, feel their life-force ebbing away, knowing that if you'd turned back on the walk, or after you pulled out that knife, that person would still be alive. That's a mark you carry forever. Shooting someone is as simple as pulling the trigger and walking away.
Much of that is, I suppose, true... if you stab them in the front. Slitting someone's throat from behind is less personal, quicker, and easier to walk away from without watching.
There's a way to detach yourself remorselessly from ANY form of murder. Killing is killing, regardless of what you use.
On topic, I can't wait for this figure. Never read the comics, just loving the design.
I agree, and if you do it with a spear to the back, it is even more detached. Either way, without guns, I'd bet knife-throwing would reach its peak in popularity along with bow and arrows. Now, a character that kills with a pick-ax, we know lacks a decent conscience and just does it to watch that light flicker.
