Glad I held out on Goldbug. I want at least one version of this mold without going the yellow way (for obvious reasons), and I was about to bite on Goldbug. This'll be the version of the mold I get.

i agree.. this definitely looks like the best use of the mold. this as bumblebee just didn't fly for me.. goldbug is a bit better.. but i like this one the best. i do however wish they had gotten their **** straight with the cover/figure. i still wonder what's going on there.

I really don't like the mold. The only reason I bought Bumblebee was to use the Renderform Hub head and have a Hubcap for my Classics shelf.
This looks nice but I already have a Nightbeat so I'm not sure if I'll bite again. (I might have if it was the Jazz mold)

because they originally planned to have him as the RTS jazz mold. pretty sure there were even prototypes, if not i know there were at least official digibashes posted at some point.TimothyR wrote:this definitely looks like the best use of the mold. this as bumblebee just didn't fly for me.. goldbug is a bit better.. but i like this one the best. i do however wish they had gotten their **** straight with the cover/figure. i still wonder what's going on there.
i think he looks best in this mold, which pains me cause this mold is so weak. oh well... he'll serve his purpose regardless, sitting displayed on a shelf.

Though I like the look of Nightbeat and think he does look better than Bumblebee, Bumblebee Goldbug, and Goldfire, I still think Goshooter looks to be the best use of this mold, having more paint apps than any other version.

If only every figure could be a collectors grade, limited run, exclusive with a massive budget sponsored by a Japanese publishing company, right?

I may parts-swap/repaint his chest with Bumblebee to get more yellow on him, but other than that I really like it.
The mold isn't bad, but I don't like it for Bee at all, and I really like for Nightbeat.
Don't get me wrong, the Jazz mold is awesome, but it is too in line with that character to also work for this character.

This is the weakest link of the wace. Dont get me wrong, I would have loved to finally have a blue bumblebee as glyph, but not this mold. I actually like the TFCC version of nightbeat better because it keeps a different mold on my shelf and it has the yellow chest. Fansproject is most likely going to do nightbeat in 2016 anyways based on their old teasers. That will be the must have nightbeat with an actual headmaster.

Cool figure but the weapons really suck. How hard can it be to make weapons that look good and integrate into the altform?

He looks pretty great! Anybody notice he actually has painted hubcaps for once? Nice to see Hasbro reintroducing vehicle details.
I already have Bumblebee but I'll gladly get this guy, he's on preorder. I just wish they'd given home a different weapon to further differentiate from Bee. I'll probably transform him with the door wings pointing down just so he looks a little different.

Crosscut actually looks pretty nice. There aren't too many straight up silver Autobot figures I can think of. He certainly has bright feet, but if I didn't have Skids already, I'd consider getting him.

Judging by a couple of the poses, it appears not. It's hard to tell, but you can also tell by the slot on the hip part. If it's closer to the front, it's assembled correctly.

I picked up Skybyte & Roadbuster on the weekend. I like them much more then I thought I would to be honest. Skybyte, being the surprisingly better figure.
His shark mode is a clip together nightmare but when it's done it's a very nice looking figure. I think he will likely stay as a shark for the most part. Probably for the best as he has no vertical neck articulation and a really weird looking left hand.
Roadbuster is okay. Not great, but okay. The weapons are pretty lame and don't really clip together in a way that is pleasing to the eye. The head is a little too squished looking, but on the other hand he has a great range of motion and a pretty simple yet pleasing transformation.

Roadbuster is good for what I want on my shelf, a beefy, reasonably "Classic/G1" representation of the character. His transformation is intuitive and fun without being simplistic. I think part of what sucked the fun out of him for me was putting on over 30 different stickers. Hasbro, please, just stop it with the stickers already! Leave that bit of Transformers legacy in the past.
I like Sky-Byte a LOT more than I thought I would. He shell-forms quite a bit, but the transformation works well and is intuitive. I wish his head could look up just a tad bit higher. He must suffer from the same self-esteem/pathological shame issues as Classics Ironhide and Rathcet. It also helps Sky-Byte's case that I opened him up while watching Sharknado 2 with my partner. He did not appreciate Sky-Byte's commentary during the film, though.
