No, that never happened. You are probably thinking of "Attack of the Autobots" where a good number of the Autobots including Prime are turned evil and then Prime splits into his three components (cab, trailer, and roller) to attack BB and Jazz

Actually that would make a good G1 episode, better plot than some of them.
