I think he means if the Autobots had a combiner and not the Decepticons (?), or if another combiner represented the Decepticons and the Autobots had Landfill (?)

I'm cool with Devs and I think the Autobots should be at a disadvantage because they've always been. That's just how it ought to be. Question is, what are you going to name him since the Devastator name was already used? Ah well, the name issue isn't too big a deal for me. The names have always bounced around in the TF universe anyway. I'd be cool if they called him Bruticus even.

Given the nature of the movie and Bays sense of reality, Im going with MENASOR as a possible gestalt for the movie.

They could even have Starscream stealing cars and stealing the Allspark fragment from Prime to bring them to life. Or perhaps the life-giving power of the Allspark lies within Megatron now...

They could use Devastator's ruined body as parts for the five Constructicons that form the combiner, thus allowing the name to be used again.

If Galvatron's involved, he could call him NEW Devastator and the 12 people who get that joke would crap themselves.

Why are you so adament against the constructicons in the movie?


I would be happy with the Build Team, but only as a last resort.

Why not have the Constructicons' gestalt:

A) Be an unnamed robot since the gestalt doesn't necessary need to be an all new character anyway, and in fact it would be confusing to a lot of people if he was?

B) Be one guy that splits off into many vehicles?

C) Be a mixture of different kinds of vehicles, since the gestalt doesn't have to be all one kind of vehicle just because they were before?

D) Be named something different like Onslaught or Ruination?

E) Or finally, if all those are so terrible, be an autobot team with a gestalt name that wouldn't conflict to a G1 name error in the first movie since that matters so much?


How many more times will I make this post in the next year and a half? I'd better save it.

I'm looking forward for a gestaldt in the next movie. Devastator, Bruticus, Menasor, whatever. I just want to see five or more vehicles joining into a battle group and kill Optimus Prime.

I'd much rather have the Breast Force in TF2.

I still don't think a combiner team should be featured in the sequel. As cool as it would be, it should be reserved for the third. Right now, they should focus on introducing some of the other memorable Autobots and Decepticons:

~Mirage
~Wheeljack
~Prowl
~Arcee
~Soundwave
~Shockwave
~Skywarp
~Thundercracker

Bring in the Dinobots and [insert Decepticon combiner team here] in TF3.

As the robots are not used for anything more than special effects, it really doesn't matter what characters show up in the sequel. Prime and Bumblebee with have some character development, the rest will just be there to look cool. Devastator looks cool, so he'll probably show up.
