Optimus Prime's Movie Weapon
Does anyone remember Optimus Prime using a gun or a rifle in the 07 movie? The only weapon I remember him using is a sword, with which he decapitated Bonecrusher.

Re: Optimus Prime's Movie Weapon
In the begining of the fight, Megs threw Prime and says THEN U WILL DIE WITH THEM and puts his arms together to form his cannon. Then Prime pulls the gun off his back and deflects the shot

Megatron merged his two arms together to form his cannon. He was about to shoot Prime but he managed to pull his own rifle and shoot Meg's instead. Well, Megatron did get a second shot off sending Prime flying. Unless the shot deflection was a scene in the IMAX version I don't recall seeing that but it would have been awesome.

Does anyone know if the gun Prime used in the movie, the same design as the arm-gun in the Leader toy?

Good question... I don't have the DVD yet, and I can't find any screen shots of Prime's movie rifle. Does anyone know?

Re: Optimus Prime's Movie Weapon
I tried to scrutinize it. But to no avail.
Prime was too far awayt in that scene, and the sequence so short. Pausing won't help.
I did notice though, that it has this "chain bullets" similar to the concept.

Re: Optimus Prime's Movie Weapon
This much inconsistency i can say.
The toy had the gun folded back on the right arm.
Whereas, in the movie, he drew the gun from his back.
But i never see any gun-like structure on his back when he's not using it.

That's right... I do remember the chain bullets similar to what's used in a gatling gun.
I wonder if the "Premium Leader" Prime will include this rifle in more detail.

I thought it looked more similar to one of Movie Voyager Prime's rifles, though with a shorter barrel.

Re: Optimus Prime's Movie Weapon
The chain bullets did appear in one of the concept graphics during the development phase.
I don't know if it was intentional or not, to make it almost unnoticeable in the actual move shot, probably because it differed greatly from the toy, and there'd a minor form of mass-shifting?

The gun is formed from the upper left hand part of his back. The part that looks like half of a motorcycle engine.
