According to the Latimes.com, a Beijing hotel called the Pangu Plaza which is featured in Transformers Age of Extinction has revoked permission of its use in the movie. Paramount and Pangu had an agreement in June 2013 to use the hotel in the movie and advertising. They allege that their partners had not lived up to their side of the bargain and has gone so far to ask that the goverment to suspend or stop the movie's release. sounds like Volkswagen making a hard way for the first movie, and now every car brand is begging to be included.

So the producers twist the plot to include more Asian locations, characters and content simply to try and reach a wider audience, and now they are risking not being able to show the movie to said wider audience. These "collaborations" need to be done properly or not at all. First actors that can't act, now unreliable contracts for locations, all to try and reach that audience.

Anyway, we all know that the complainants simply want more money, as usual.

we all know whats going to happen, ILM will superimpose a new building and the actors will re-record a few lines then the hotel will realize they just lost out on international marketing and change their minds. After that the movie will go back to the way it was & time & money will have been wasted for absolutely nothing, this is what happens when movies try to go bigger than they need to be.

Wouldn't it be a bit too late for tweaking the movie? It's 5 days away from release in the U.S.

Also, I doubt this will succeed, but considering the Chinese population, if it does, that means a huge chuck of change lost for Paramount. I am really hoping this film will out earn DoTM in the long run, and losing the audience in the most populous country in the world will surely put a dent in ticket sales. The 2 Hr. 45 minute run time is already against the box office, as longer movies tend to have fewer showtimes.

Negative on all accounts. This happens alot more than we know. Properties at the last minute make claims that the production didn't get permission to use said property in their movie. The ploy is to get more money from the production company. 9 times out of 10 these never go anywhere. They think the'll scare the production company in paying up. Something tells me Paramount has a good team of lawyers to catch these things. The premier has happened. A very large portion of this film was made in China and has contributed to the Chinese economy. There won't be any re shoots. Not 5 days before its international release. Not even in China.

Actually , I find this funny, Bay changed his mind in last possible moment so mamy times, it's nice that he will suffer from someone doing the same thing to him. Who knows, maye PP would be able to preventing AoE premiere, that would be hilaious

Ya, cause its not possible that this is just a ploy to get more money from Paramount or something. it just has to be all Bay's fault. No one else on the whole production team has anything to say about anything. He is just an evil dictator! Darn you Bay!

And FYI, this won't hurt Bay. You give the man to much credit. Its not his responsibility to secure permits and secure rights to use said property in his films. If anything, Paramount is the one who would pay. Bay did his job. He will get paid regardless.

A few day ago we reported that Pangu Plaza had revoked their permission for their property to be featured in this weekend's Transformers: Age of Extniction. Luckily it appears that all is now well with both parties, and according to Variety whatever issues had previously arisen have be resolved.

After friendly consultations, the two sides have achieved mutual trust, and reached an understanding

Mutual trust? Such an odd term to use for a matter like this.

What i meant was this happens quite a bit in the movie industry. For alot of people here this might be the first time they've heard about something like this happening because they might not follow the production of other films as closely as they do the TF film franchise.
