Are you guys speculating this will break up into parts that will fit on the 1987 scorponok toy? I don't think this will happen.

This PE Scorponk toy is not a Supplemental figure like PE warden was.

PE Scorponok is a 1987 G-1 homage sculpt not a IDW Homage sculpt like PE Warden was. I presume PE Scorponok will likely transform from robot to Scorpion to base modes. As it's got nothing else to do,in regards to not mixing with the 1987 scorponok toy version.

The PE Scorp toy is it's own think,it's not being created to role play with the PE warden toy. If that was the case both toys would be the same scale. both toys would have the same alternate universe sculpted design.

Dude, it's Perfect Effect's MO to Parts-form, usually into the most bizarre shapes possible. Expecting this will be any different will be like hoping the United States will ever get out of debt.

Yeah they at least changed the shoulder guns and added treads, but everything else is just a blacked in version of my art.

Not cool

And posting a link to DA so you can see the time stamp on it:
http://tgping.deviantart.com/art/Scorponok-Apeface-and-Snapdragon-354352121

Which also means they don't have a 3D model or original concept to back up their silhouette I'm guessing.

Kind of Shady of PE

Id be flattered if they used my work, in the same fashion that I used Hasbro's. The internet has no boundaries. Without it, his fanbase would be very limited. Not looking to start arguments here. Just my opinion.

I could see how you feel that way, but does it work on all levels? I mean what if you write an article and put it out on the internet with you name on it and when it's written and than NY Times or whatever paper takes it and pass it off as theirs with out your permission or credit you in anyway. sure the subject of your article could be or something anyone can talk about but what you written is still unique and it's stolen. Would you be proud that NYtimes took your article? or angry that they did without letting the world knows of what you did?

Nobody involved asked HasTak's permission or paid any lisense fees. Nobody involved was allowed to officially patent anything as it's deemed theft from HasTak's property.

Those Deviant art guys have been IP Thefting HasTak for over a decade. They're the least guys, I'd sympathise with.

If it's okay to steal art from HasTak and make it into a 3rd party toy. It should also be acceptable to steal art from a TF fan & make it into a 3rd party TF toy.

PE has already shown they are capable of creating non-parts forming or non-accessory add ons toys. PE-DX-01 RC is a fine example to illustrate this.

I think I'll enjoy the botcon figure more than this. As nice as PE stuff is, I don't think I've really enjoy transforming any of them. (ESP those PE bikes)

Did you get Warden? He was a vast improvement over the bikes. Also, not-Reflector was pretty good, if a bit small.

I am intrigued by this, but Energon Scorponok is my Scorponok for now. No way I can afford the Botcon version.

Still, if this looks good enough... Yeah, it's have to look friggin' fantastic...

head looks great. Him being a bit bigger than Warden is only a bad thing when it comes to pricing. Although maybe because he's not toting around a 90s Liefeld cannon things will even themselves out. At the very least they should be able to provide a better alt mode than Warden has.

I could also see this bringing the price or at least availability of the Botcon version down a little. Was planning on Warden and Botcon Scorp facing off, maybe now I'll just give PE all my money.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I have Warden I enjoy posing it but that's it. It looks nice. Do not like the transformations at all. I also have the reflector set and it's pretty awesome I would say that's still the best PE product to date for me but putting those tiny weapons in place to "transform" it was a pain.

This was first teased after they revealed the first Warden Proto, well they showed us the render for the head-master.

The artwork is very similar to this, however they are both based on the same character. And I can see some diffrences between them, the most obvious ones being the treads, and the smoke stacks being much larger on the PE version. There are a few more though. But we'll have to wait and see till they reveal the full thing.

im not sure how i feel about this. i think i only have third party figures of characters who dont have updates. so pretty much if there is an official version ill naturally gravitate towards it. besides, i might be one of the few people who actually likes the energon scorponok mold. so im fine skipping this. i think id only buy a third party scorponok is he was really big. like, planet x omega supreme sized at least.

Scorponok's size is odd. He towers over PE Fort Max. But PE Scorponok is too big to transform into the head for G1 Scorponok. And he is too small in robot and alt mode to stand next to G1 Fort Max.

I've learned not to get excited about anything until I've seen a full plastic rendering, otherwise I take history as my teacher and so far PE has shown that good looking robots tend to fall apart in their hands, literally.

I have no doubt this will make a stunning robot mode Scorponok, but that's about it.

I'm going to wait for the Inevitable Black Zarak repaint and retool of this toy. Which i'm speculating is planned to offset the cost of this mold. Thing is I never cared for the 1987 Scorponk toy colors.

think having PE Scoponok in leader scale, Puts this toy in G-1 Marvel TF comics Scorponok art scale. As this will scale nicely next to MP TF toys like MP Grimlock, MP-10, MP-09, MP Seekers, MP Soundwave and those voyager Scale MP TF cars bots.

If they are indeed going for idw Scorponok, the size is about right. Warden is based on idw For Max, who is about the same size as idw Ultra Magnus, and Scorponok is larger than him.

Are there any pics of Warden next to to the Energon Scorpinok mould? I have a feeling this will look better with Warden.

It's sad the the best Botcon figure to date is quickly overshadowed by this, but that's how I see it, truth to tell. Official or not the mould is pretty dated now.

Gotta say that is a pretty good size next to Warden. The official Scorpinok is tempting; I was half convinced I'd get it since it's a true Headmaster and, let's fact it, probably the best Botcon fig to date. However, the size of PE's Scorpinok is very intimidating and Scorpy deserves a pretty big mould. Plus ... old mould is old. It's a nice mould and makes a good Scorpinok, but PE's likely has a lot more going for it.

I'll probably got with PE's. I'd like to know how much both will cost, though (Botcon's likely will be pretty pricy all on his own). And a clearer look at PE's.
