Adding to the swarm of Dinobot news recently, BBTS has a preorder up for the next Planet X offering, Neptune, an homage to FoC Sludge. It remains to be seen if there will be a "hanging on the wall dead" mode. (Props to the member who mentioned that in another thread! I'll give you credit and edit, if you let me know it was you.

This guy looks awesome -- I love that Neptune is bigger than Grimlock. Though FP's & MF's announcements have the fandom all aflutter, I'm much happier with the designs of these game accurate PX figures.

I've been holding off an Caelus, but may need to pick him up now.

It's nice to see the Dinobots get so much love!

I'm buying both this one and the FP version. I'm telling myself that it'll be so I can compare the two and decide which set to buy, but I know it'll probably end up as FP with my Classics and Planet X breaking my "Deluxes only" rule on my WfC/FoC shelf.

So planet x just threw up their pre order in a last ditch attempt to combat FP and MF. Different heights...never wanted it. Different priced dinos...certainly didnt expect that. An october release date...people will have FP Sludge in hand and probably the 2nd one preordered before this thing drops. If planet x wants to continue to compete in the dinosaur game, theres only one way to outshine the other companies....trypticon.

We actually knew that PX Sludge was releasing in October 1-2 months ago. I remember people wondering where the pre-orders were then since we knew the release month.

Well thats the scheduled release date. But wasnt their swoop pushed back a bit ? (i cant remember) Planet x doesn't have the luxury of being the only company doing the dinobots anymore. Time is money and the clock is ticking...

Oh man, I'm so torn.

FP's robot mode is everything I wanted in a classics Sludge BUT I think I like the dino mode of Planet X's...

I hope we see a painted prototype of Planet X's soon, it will definitely help me decide.

@Rated X:

Planet X isn't necessarily targeting the same group of consumers that the other Dinobot 3rd party makers are targeting. The others are going after those who want Masterpiece or Classics-style Dinobots. Planet X is targeting fans of the video games, which are still popular and now still relevant thanks to the Rise of the Dark Spark video game.

While YOU don't care about the games, many others do and still want those versions of the Dinobots. As long as that pool of fans still exists, there will always be a market for the Planet X figures.

Fansproject's LER are also base off FOC Dinobots.

Edit: Upon double-checking...it's somewhere in between G1 bot and FoC Dinos. So PlanetX still stands for game-accurate models.

! I just visited BBTS, saw the new Planet X preorder up and ordered it immediately. I then came round here to see the discussion.

So far for me:

Planet X: 2
FT: 0
FP: 0

And staying that way (until PX becomes 3, 4, 5

).

I'm in that group Sabrblade describes (except I don't play mobile games, so it has nothing to do with the 'Rise of the Dark Spark' game, I just wants me a complete set of WfC/FoC figures, including the Dinobots).

That said, I am still hoping for a proper WfC Trypticon and FoC Metroplex from Planet X along with the Decepticon cars from WfC and any other WfC/FoC figures/characters they care to do in proper, game accurate fashion.
