I like him and he'll be my Classics Sludge. Thanks for the pic, Mkall!
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

A FOC-TFP Trypticon that can Transform from T-Rex, to robot then a TFP Nemesis Space ship, I'd gladly pay money towards this.

Nah, I'm not replacing my Classics guys. They'll just be in a different part of my eventual display, whether that means being displayed in box (because those boxes are perty), or in jet mode.

I have about 18 unique-deco Classics-style Seekers now (no KOs or CHMS), and by the time TFSS 3.0 is complete and I acquire a couple more on my list, I'll have 22. And that doesn't include my FOC or Prime-style Seekers.

That's a hard commitment to quantity right there. And even with the advent of these IDW style-Leader Seekers, I would need to own at least Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, and the Coneheads before considering a Classics liquidation.

Hmmm... Looks really nice from the side, but from the front? He could be tightened up a bit.

Looks like Planet X mistransformed their own toy, lol. Looks like there is a way to cover that gap:

 @ PX

its almost hard to picture a sludge without a segregated neck like columpio now... PX's looks dated because of that. still, really nice looking. love the sharp dino head sculpt and blue eyes, and as i said before the bot mode is slick too. though at first i was miffed about the lack of a sword, but those hammers are pretty rockin.

The Dino mode pics just reinforce what I felt before, I like this A LOT better in color than I did without.

I like the Dino mode, in many ways, better than Columpio.
However the bendy neck on FP's and, IMO, the better bot mode take the cake for FP.

If Columpio didn't exist, though, this would be the one I would buy.
(I still might if he makes it to clearance)

how slowly PX is releasing their dinobots. granted when their swoop was released there was no competition, but now even my mom is releasing a set of dinobots. anyone think theyll get in gear and try to get them out in a more timely fashion?

I think they said they wanted to get their Slag and Snarl out before the end of 2014. Whether or not they manage to do so is another question entirely.

Goddamnit, that's good. The scale with FOC Grimlock is basically perfect. Now I want one. Also these look to be cheaper than the other Dinobots, I may very well go for these...

Are they planning on doing a Grimlock? If so I'll buy theirs, if not I'll just get FOC Grimmy with the Iron Factory and Zenith Forge addons (Iron Factory for the armour, Zenith Forge for the sword and shield).

Thanks for the pix, I always appreciate them for the comparisons.

Well, I really like his dino mode much better than the FP version, actually, but the bot mode is weaker IMO.

Glad I went with FP for this character, but I'm still planning to mix 'n match my favorites from both companies.

I find it amusing that Planet X wants to keep beating a dead WFC/FOC horse. By the time they finish the dinobots, there will be a new video game with new dinobots. They took too long, it's already game over. MMC realized that Hearts of Steel had a limited lifespan which couldn't justify the continuation of the toy line. It was the best business decision MMC ever made and quickly they rose to the top of the 3rd party market. Planet X should consider doing the same. If they let go of FOC already, theres a lot more money to be made.

I don't know about that X.

I think the FoC designs have enough crossover appeal that they can work for a lot of collectors, even ones that never played the games ... myself included.

While I prefer the FP version of Sludge, I like the PX Swoop better.
I'm still on the fence for the other characters.
I suspect I'm not the only one.

As far as HoS, I wish MMC would continue to put out some more from that line.
I LOVE those designs. Even if they only did one a year, I'd be in for them.

Do you have to be so f**king negative about everything, X?

There are plenty of people- myself included- who definitely still care about WFC/FOC. From what I've seen I'm thinking of having the Planet X Dinobots as my "classics" Dinobots. They're cool designs and PX makes good toys. Cool designs never become "irrelevant". Otherwise nobody would care about G1 anymore, would they?

I think what X is trying to get at is just saying that Planet X is pursuing designs that past the expiration date for profitability. The game came out over 2 years ago, and they've only done 2 dinobots... people move on, is all.
