I would say because there based off transformers characters .
I like the fact they don't transform iv'e said few time in random threads that this is what i wanted (articulated action figures) if pretenders were ever made so i can't wait to see the end result and i'm definitely up for buying if they pull them off .

While we differ on many opinions in this forum, I gotta admit that your raise a very excellent question that Scaleface should seek the answer to since he seems close to the source on this.
