Thats the easy half. Getting the faithful to pledge was never an issue. But once everyone and their mother has already pledged, where do you come up with the other half ? If the retailers havent chipped in yet, they might be willing to hit the 80 mark and seal the deal. But if this first half already includes BBTS and other retailers, PWTT is screwed. Unless they decide to pledge on their own project just to get it going. And if that happens, we shall never know.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

This has nothing to do with retailers, retailers would be incredibly stupid to bid on this, other than personal interest. Retailers will be able to order their lots once this kickstarter is done. They'll be getting their figures for far less than the 55, remember, the 55 is a reduced price and a bit cheaper than their actual retail prices, which will likely be 60 without shipping.
If you pledge now, the 55 buys you a figure with shipping, plus pays for the production of up to 2 more figures. This is literally here to fund production of the first batch. No retailer will be backing this in order to get stock, they would be losing money if they did, because then they wouldn't be able to sell them for retail prices. The only reason retailers would back this is to get their hands on some of the kickstarter exclusives, like BBTS does with BotCon stuff.
Once this is funded, retailers will order their batches, and sell those. The backers won't be the only people buying this, usually only a relatively small fraction of those interested in something will actually pre-order or back something. Like Iron Skies, that movie was crowdfunded, and that movie sold more tickets and DVDs after the movie was finished and released than they did during funding.

Agamemnon wrote:On the army of 10, have you heard of troop builders? Back when I was heavy into Star Wars, I bought a Stormtrooper troop builder set, which was multiple storm troopers. That makes sense for characters that appear in fiction in large numbers. I've seen people comment about various figures and troop building. Heck, I made a comment about it when the Allicon's came out. The initial price was too expensive, but when they went on clearance, I snagged a couple more to fill out my army.

You say "when it succeeds" but you should be saying "if it succeeds". Unless you have a crystal ball. I dont. Maybe it will succeed. But if you start seeing them on e-bay pre-order for $80 and up the next day, then you know it wasnt the fans that made the Kickstarter a success. It was the scalpers.

I did the 3 Alicons, 6 Sharkticons, 3 Sweeps 15 Junkions, etc. But I did it because there was was actual fiction in the form of a cartoon to justify it in my display. If you count PWTT's tweets and facebook posts as fiction, than by all means go ahead and spend $900 on 10 Skullgrins with bat heads.

Wheres the option where I can pledge $10,000 and PWTT flys me to New York for dinner and a meet and greet ? I know it sounds like a joke, but another Kickstarter Scaleface pointed out actually gave fans that option.

That was a subtle shot at your commentary over the last couple of weeks. Go back and read what you've been writing and then come back and chide me. Indeed, I don't know if it will succeed. But you seem awfully sure of yourself that it won't. And it's getting more than tiresome. Will you be willing to stop it and wait and see how it comes out? You could, you know, completely avoid this thread...

Personal preference, dude. Why not let others speak for their personal preferences in what packages get funded? Why the constant berating of PWTToo?Rated X wrote:Agamemnon wrote:I think it's great that PWTToo is giving fans options. Perhaps it won't sell any of the armies of 10. How is that relevant? Okay, I'll bite. I guess I much prefer more options and more freedom to choose what I like. I also recognize that other people have other preferences. That also doesn't mean that this has to be run exactly like some other kickstarter. PWTToo is choosing a rather unique approach, and I am enjoying watching it unfold. It appears that you arguemnts are all about how none of this matches "Rated X's" preferences, and therefore it's crap. If that is all you have to offer, again, I ask to leave over until the kickstarter is done...

In all honesty, because this thread is very entertaining.
I said it before and Ill say it again, if the kickstarter succeeds, im prepared to eat my words.
But if it fails (or succeeds via scalpers) none of the PWTT supporters seem to be willing to eat their words.

Nice frigging escape clause. SO if they fail you are right and if they succeed you are right.
What the HELL is "succeeda via scalpers"? You mean if people buy extras and resell them at a higher price? By that definition every Action Figure Kickstarter, every botcon set and every SDCC exclusive just "succeeds via scalpers"!
Gothitropolis Ravens are going for about 3 times their Kickstarter price on ebay right now. Are they failures? I guess so.
BTW - Nice promo picture of Catastropheles!
58% funded! Once we hit $80K it will automatically unlock the first stretch goal! Here are D-Fuzz and R-Mix!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/44 ... protectors
Don't take the wait and see approach. If you're on the fence about pledging do so early so we can unlock a ton of extra figures and accessories! In the long run this helps everyone out.

(59% funded, just over $47K as of this post.I did not imagine it would be this successful at this time.)

I believe you have to purchase at least one figure for $55 to purchase ANY add-ons. SO that would be $55 for one figure and his tech drone, then $25 for the three hreads, and $20 for the two tech drones, totaling $100.
