Add some CGI and they can include a shuttle, fuel tank, and boosters. Add all those in, it'd be perfect for Omega Supreme.

This.
Im waiting for the news that theres ganna be another fig around $100 like ROTF Devestator and it will be Omega. That would make me have to change my pants.

After knowing Jetfire in the G1 comics and even in Armada, compared to them RoTF Jetfire is indeed a POS. The Blackbird was a cool alt. mode though. But the transformation sucked and the robot mode looked like crap.

I disagree with that. RotF Jetfire was the only Jetfire who never seemed like a bland nobody. Really liked his design and he was a fun character. What exactly was great about G1 comics Jetfire? He was more interesting (and sinister) as a newly created mindless drone before he was given a 'personality'. And G1 Jetfire/Skyfire always had a bad deal of looking like a bad tubby character compared to the rather awesome Macross borrowed toy.

That's the beauty of having personal opinions. That's yours and you're entitled to it. I don't see it that way.

What exactly was great about G1 comics Jetfire? He was more interesting (and sinister) as a newly created mindless drone before he was given a 'personality'.

I liked him for his potential, too bad Budiansky did nothing with him after he got his personality. He was a heavily armed fighter jet who was more than equal to Starscream, but that was never exploited.

And G1 Jetfire/Skyfire always had a bad deal of looking like a bad tubby character compared to the rather awesome Macross borrowed toy.

Yeah, in the cartoon, Skyfire was a waste of space, worse than in RoTF.

And Armada Jetfire was done well, though kind of simplistic in the cartoon. In the comics he had more of a personality and was a leader. And the toy is pure win.

RoTF Jetfire is just...off. He has the personality of Alpha Trion. It doesn't fit a badass fighter plane, it fits an ancient character. That's my problem. If the same role and lines were given to an "older" character it would have been fine.

Fair enough. I never read the Armada comics cos I watched the show a couple times and thought 'nah, not for me' and I didn't like the toys. Though to be fair I just wasn't into toys at that stage of life even if I did occasionally browse the then current TFs in the stores (though I did at some point own that big Armada Prime just cos I was curious about the self transforming trailer and I have owned a couple of minicons just cos I like pocket sized TF's to take with me when I'm bored at work or something, which is why I own so many of the Movie Legends figures too), it was a couple of the first wave of Classics and then the whole Movie thing that brought me back to the TF world properly. A friend of mine is a bit of a Jetfire nut and she seems to like all characters with the name in particular G1 (toy, original and classics), Unicron Trilogy and Movie, though not the Animated one at all (like me she's not a fan of that show either). I really did like the movie Jetfire both the character and his toy. I was initially a bit put off by his characterisation but by the time of his sacrifice I was already missing him.

I did like that alt. mode in RoTF, the Blackbird. I just wish they did more with it. I so wanted to see an aerial battle with Starscream. That was another reason I was disappointed with the old codger personality. If you still have the Armada Prime toy, get the Jetfire toy if it's not too much online, because they combine and make a pretty awesome-looking figure. :)

I just hope in TF3 they won't drop the ball on Silverbolt like that and there will be some awesome shoot-outs with Starscream.

No I don't have the Armada Prime anymore. I only had it for a short while because like I said I was curious about the auto-transforming trailer. I didn't much care for the figure itself and thought the combined form of Prime and his trailer looked absolutely awful and not even have as good as the old Powermaster Prime. Prime on his own looked alright I guess. I did enjoy the PS2 game based on Armada which I still have along with the two Movie games (which despite what some people say I actually enjoy even just to play as the beautifully designed movie bots) whereas WFC I found to be a tedious (most excruciatingly dull and annoying boss battles ever, I hate you Omega Supreme and you Trypticon) and ugly (could barely make out what was what) game I sold a week or so after purchase.

Yeah, I agree on the Armada combined Prime. Stooooopid. But his trailer is not involved in the combination with Jetfire. Jetfire basically replaces the trailer as the bottom half, but looks much better.

Yes, I still have the PS2 game for Armada, and still play it. Played it yesterday, as a matter of fact. I love that game. I have WFC for the Wii, which isn't the same as for PS3 or 360, but it was fun. I still like the Armada game better. I never played any of the movie games.

just bought me the first movie game on PS3. yeah loads of people don't like it but I had fun with it on PS2 and certainly more fun than I had on WFC (which was no fun). Only cost a few pounds and I just freakin' love controlling the movie bots.

Armada Jetfire/Optimus does look somewhat better I suppose (looking at it on TFU.info) but it still has that awful head design. And the wings on the legs look a bit like a dress. I quite like the combined truck mode with them others too
http://www.tfu.info/2003/Autobot/PXJetfire/combinedvehiclemode4.jpg but then I've always liked truck/trailer things even that God Ginrai version of PM Prime (though hate that combined form with the extra trailor bit in robot mode). Is one reason I'm hoping we get a trailer toy for Leader Class RotF or DotM Prime toys now we seen he has one in the new film. I wanna know what it does. What's inside it?

Please let it be Omega Supreme. Has to be one of my most favourite characters.
