Well this is a loaded question. There are several tactics and some of them work better with certain builds. At level 0 I found it was actually faster to compete in areas more than it was to do the actual missions. Why? Survivability. If we look at the time table say a Mission takes normally 20 minutes for you to get out of. So if you join a Mission with 10 minutes on it your bot sits around for 30 minutes before it gets out. If you are lucky your bot leaves at 100%. If you are unlucky then it leaves at 0% and spends 1 hour in the CR chamber. Arenas tend to be instant 20minutes when you get in. So if you joined an arena chances are you are out in 20 minutes and are partial injured. Again this is a best / worst case scenario, but you just spent 20 minutes on a best and an 1 hour 20 minutes for a worst. Certain builds do better in certain situations. At level 0 Rammers / Avoiders do better than Action Masters / Strafers / Repairers 80% of the time. Their down time from my experience (Your Milage May Very) is much less than the other builds. Of course the inverse to what I just said is a good 2v2 or 5v5 match or a 0 con area wait. If you see an even match, even on a wipe you will typically get better xp from a 2v2 or higher match than you would from an Arena match. This returns on Missions grow exponentially as you get higher / meet higher level opponents. As I write this I see you have bots sitting in the arena doing nothing but waiting for a con to come in. If you don't see a con in the arena at the time you check, don't waste your time in the arena. You can spend up to an hour and have 0 return time on the time spent waiting for a con to come in. You would be better to put your bot in the missions at this point in time since even if you have a 30 minute wait on the mission your XP gain return is much higher. To put it simply: If you check the missions and the arena and see 0 cons/bots in missions and 0 cons in the arena : Choose Missions Cons only in missions and 0 cons in the arena : Choose missions 0 cons / bots in missions and cons waiting in the arena: Choose Arena Cons in missions and cons in the arena: Choose best choice (1 v 1 fight with no bonus or Mission with a bonus if you win on a 1 v 1) Bots in missions and 0 cons in the arena: Choose missions (100-150 XP return) Outnumbered odds (3 to 0 or 3 to 1 in favor of cons) missions and cons in Arena: Choose Arena (Less chance of a wipe and that means a faster turn around time) As you get higher (1 - upper limit) you will find missions such as 1-11 lvls and level 1 through 3. There are huge bonus payoffs for these. I typically gain a few K for these with my bots, but the risk vs reward is higher. Depending on my build I sometimes go with a lower reward based off of potential survival charts I have built. Keep in mind a you gain XP off of damage, but at level 0 you gain huge xp off of avoidance. I had a bot once gain 500XP by avoiding ever single attack. At level 0 this was huge. My Rammers would do massive damage and net me huge XP too. Strafers are really a low roll, meaning you can get a huge payoff... but out of 10 matches you may only get that pay off once depending on your RNG. Repair at LVL 0 is useless unless you are in missions and even then they have a lower return than a strafer.
