Oh... though it was some sort of inside joke about medics. Ah, who cares, game's down anyway.

I'd start out with "airplane" and work from there. Being that the xp costs can get high. a lot of vets will tell you not to go with strafe in the low levels, I;'m the exception to the rule. With strafe, keep firepower 1-2 points even with strafe (FPR:2, STF:3) I'd keep avoid as a backup, can't do any good in a fight with your wings clipped everytime you get in the air.

Here is my suggestion.

STR - 4
INT - 0
SPD - 6
END - 4
RNK - 0
CRG - 8
FPR - 5
SKL - 0

Strafe - 8
Repair - not accessible until INT = 2.

This still should give him good speed for strafing and higher courage for more attacks. This uses up 1,656,000xp. When you reach 1,912,000xp, you can upgrade either speed, endurace, courage, or strafe. It depends on how you want it set up.

I'm looking to 'off' one of my characters, Funk. I'm just not as enamoured with him, too much like Jazz, etc. etc. I've decided to make him into a Sentinel (Omega Supreme Battle Station alt) and have a decent story to go along with it, but I want some build advice on him.

I only have 1,757,191xp to work with and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I've never done a pure strafer before let alone one with repair options (not really a high priority for me for the character but useful in missions) and I'd like to make him somewhat survivable as a level 4.

Suggestions anyone?

I would go with what you found out later. The Dol Laser Rifle or the Semi Automatic Rifle are still good weapons to have. Here is my suggestion for a set up:

Strength 5
Intelligence 0
Speed 3
Endurance 2
Rank 0
Courage 5
Firepower 2
Skill 0
Ram 4

This set up sill give you a decent weapon with a Semi-Automatic Rifle (€10,000) or a Dol-Laser Rifle (€2,200). Both being no recharge and moderate to heavy damage. The next stat you could upgrade would be Ram to 5 when you get to 372 kXP. This gives you a good rammer configuration. From there on out I could concentrate on getting courage, ram, strength, and speed up another point (probably in that order). then you can concentrate on getting the stats for the energon cross bow. Upgrade endurance and rank as you see fit.

I can live without the altmode, I'll just pick it up again when it comes around. But I do want to try and keep the crossbow so he can dish out some relatively good damage.

EDIT: After going back to the calculator and moving things around, I found that if I were to cut out the point in Skill and one point in Firepower, I could put one point in two of the three major stats I mentioned earlier (Strength, Courage, and Endurance) and I could put a point into Ram as well.

*brushes dust off thread*

Ok, I've got a question: I've been noticing that my 'Bot Steelwraith has been somewhat lackluster for a while now, so I'm thinking about resetting him and giving him a new config. He currently has about 357k XP and has 5 STR, 4 SPD, 1 END, 3 CRG, 3 FRP, 1 SKL, and 4 Ram. I was thinking of changing him to 4 STR, 4 END, 4 CRG, 3 FRP, 1 SKL, and 3 Ram, which would cost 349k XP. What do y'all think of this config? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wingspan wrote:So we really need more high level FP / SKL weapons...

I think it would help a lot if the Gatling Gun were depowered a little, rather than simply adding more higher-level weapons (not that I'd complain about more variety). As it stands, the Gatling Gun is "perfect", with the best possible recharge rate and the best possible damage range, so there's no need to ever use anything else. The Fusion Cannon should have maximum power, as the most expensive weapon in the game, but it's currently weaker than the third-most-expensive.

It seems like levels 3-5 are where things begin to get fun which lasts for a time until things are maxed out.

Levels 6 - 9 aren't bad either. Even with a few things maxed out, there's still some flexibility in set-up and experimentation. Strafe Tanks dominate with dual offensive tactics at L10, though, so other configs end up getting slaughtered.

Well, one thought, has anyone every built a maxed Battle Station or Emergency Vehicle with maxed Repair? At least a 10 INT would be put to use there for once.

Dark Ops, on the 'Con side, had his namesake as an Emergency Vehicle with 10 INT back when the Computational Type robot modes were allowing for uber-Repairers, but he's reset to a Strafe Tank now. The highest Repair-capable character in the game right now is my character, Laser Scalpel (Emergency Vehicle), who has maxed Repair and 9 INT. Battle Station might be an interesting set-up to try with him in the future; might improve his mission scores :-?

Actually, L10 starts to get a little boring for configuring characters, I've found. About halfway through, you end up with all the good stats maxed out and it's just a case of deciding which useless stat to dump points into, since INT doesn't do anything, RNK is worthless above 8 and SKL is unnecessary above 4 for a Strafe Tank (as pretty much every other high-level weapon is out-classed by the Gatling Gun).

So we really need more high level FP / SKL weapons, INT to work (in terms of battle strategies), RNK to provide more armors, and RNK to provide more impact on strategies as well.

AFAIK, there's no new armors above RNK 8, except that listing for The Fallen's armor at RNK 11...which we can't get anyway.

Scantron wrote:Only other suggestion I'd make, looking at the character's current set-up might be to switch his CRG and END points. I haven't seen much difference between 9 and 10 CRG, especially in the Arena, but the extra END point definitely helps.

You must have jjjuuussstttt seen him. I switched him about 5 minutes ago. I'll give that a whirl, and he's only a couple of fights away from another point anyway, so I can have both at 10 soon (unless rank is more worthwhile at 10, but I hear tell it ain't). He's also at level 9 right now, but level 10 is, again, only a couple of fights away.

Provided they're wins.

EDIT: Okay, now he's a level 10. And I made the switch.
